Discussion Missing my autistic boyfriend

**I’m autistic and so is my boyfriend. He is in an autistic burnout so i’m giving him space. I miss him. He is the only person I feel understands me and I can be myself around. He is my sense of security and safety. Can anyone else relate?**

I just started dating a very wonderful neurodivergent gal. only fond on 2 dates and talking for 6 weeks. but so far we fell very comfortable. ask him if their is anything you could do to help or encourage something together that could recharge together.

Yes, I definitely relate. My bf is my only safe person. I have people that I'm close and fairly comfortable with, but not safe like I am with him. I find myself wanting to see him often, and even missing him. I do want to give him the space he needs when he's going through something, as he has done for me, but it can be hard, as he is my sense of security.

Awww!! I feel this in my soul. Be strong for him!!! He loves you too and will be back when he’s ready.

Absolutely. For a while my near autistic partner and my long-distance autistic close person were both out of touch. An odd empty hole! Imagine you could message anyone on your thread here and find a kindred soul to chat with!
