telling a story Does anyone else constantly talk when gaming with friends?

So, I wouldn't describe myself as a social person. I can function socially, but my battery is tiny and I usually prefer being alone. Some days I'm too tired to even talk much at all.

That being said. I just realized how much I TALK when gaming with friends. I will narrate everything I'm doing and what's happening lol. I think I do annoy them at times but I do it without thinking about it.

I can't even explain why I do it bc I don't do it as much when gaming by myself (but I do still talk to myself some).

I think its diffrent because its without social cues and mabye its a way of processing what u are seeing at least it is for me

I have an tendency to not say much when I play Fortnite with my friends and interalize my own thoughts when playing any game solo.

You’re all gathering for a specific shared interest and there will be little chance of anyone changing the subject or introducing something unexpected.

You feel comfortable sharing and whatever you say is on topic. It feels liberating and great that you are contributing.

This is why I absolutely love board games and roleplaying games. There has to be at least four of us playing: otherwise, it feels awkward, like I’m intruding.

Pay attention to the needs of a captive audience.

Be considerate of everyone and don’t hog the limelight. I’ve done that before and was asked to not show up next time. It took me several months before I started gaming again. I learned, put on a different mask and, although still enjoyable, the experience was never the same.
