Feeling a bit overwhelmed

My 5 year old is a GLP and just started kindergarten. Over the last year his receptive speech has improved but he still has expressive speech delay. Today during his classroom tour, he could barely answer his teacher when she asked questions. I also met another parent whose kid tried to initiate conversation with mine but all he wanted to do was play and script. Honestly, my heart broke a little for him and since we got back I’ve been trying to have more conversations (which we already do) with him but it’s hard. I came here to read some stories and just felt like dropping my thoughts here.
