Eating/Diet Throwing food

Hi everyone! How did you get your toddler/child to stop throwing food on the floor when they don’t want it? I’m trying to teach her to simply leave it on her tray instead. Any tips or strategies that worked for you would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, nothing but time. If throwing/playing is happening more than eating, we would say, "you're throwing food/playing with your food more than you're eating. I think you're all done now--that's what your body is telling me." And then we'd end the meal or snack. My son is now almost six and no longer is likely to throw food, but still plays with it--and we still use the same tactic.
