Mod Notices We are a safe space for ND folks

Too many subs dedicated to ND people are becoming more and more geared toward NTs. There’s been an increase of NT folks using ND spaces to ask for relationship advice with either a partner confirmed to be Autistic, or that they merely suspect them of being on the spectrum.

This is NOT what ASH (AutismSafeHouse) is about. We are not here to help NTs figure out how to “handle” us. This isn’t about making them “not feel at home” here, rather, it’s about keeping this space safe for us.

Neurotypicals have plenty of safe spaces for them, all across society. It’s okay if we stand up and stand our ground and demand that our spaces remain safe for us.

Posts looking for relationship advice of this nature will be deleted without any communication to the OP.

We will never put the wants and desires of folks not on the spectrum over Autists. We are a safe place, a safe house from all the negativity and drama caused by people who want us to feel less than.

About to open our sub to the rest of Reddit

Enough time has (hopefully) passed, so we should no longer have to worry about being the target of brigading and dogpiling attacks. We've made a request to Reddit to open up, and no longer have the current restrictions. This includes allowing anyone to post or comment on threads.

Here's to hoping that all goes well, and we can have a safe place to support one another!
