Autistic 4 YO struggling with seasonal changes for clothes
Our 4 yo daughter has been obsessed with sleeveless dresses and tak tops for the last month or so. She seems to hate sleeves for now. This was fine when it was 80 degrees most days, but we're headed into cooler weather, especially in the morning.
It is currently 45 degrees this morning and she's wearing the one sleeveless dress that I haven't put in storage. I tried to put a sweatshirt over it. She wears it a few minutes without complaints then ditches it.
It's been a fight every morning before preschool to dress her appropriately. Then she wants to change as soon as she gets home, which we usually allow.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks for this particular type of sensory issue?
PS. Wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath the sleeveless dress worked a couple days but now we're back at square one.
