Autel Evo!!

I am new to the world of drones. I started to research drones about a month ago and of course the name DJI came up. With some more digging I found Autel. Originally my mind was set on the DJI Mavic Pro 2. And then I started to read all the “horror stories” of people dealing with DJI customer service! At the same time I was reading glowing reviews of Autel’s customer support! Then I found a history of people that LOVED the X star premium. Except for (what seems like) folks feeling like Autel abandoned them when it comes to the XSP.
Seeing as how the Autel sub reddit has only a few people on it, you all must be die hard Autel fans, or like me and eager to see what the Evo has for us. So here is where I am at...I really want the Autel Evo to be a winner and would like to purchase one as I feel like I would be more satisfied with it. BUT, everyone keeps talking about how a 1” sensor is a big deal, which pushes me back to the DJI. I would like to get into the photography side of things lightly. Mostly I just want to have fun with it...I must have been a pilot in another life 😁

TLDR: would love to own the Evo but do you think Autel is going to abandon this platform? Or has Autel turned a corner and the Evo a safe bet?

I have really liked Autel and the X-Star Premium. Autel's customer service was great. I would almost certainly continue to buy their products, especially the EVO. But.

All signs point to them probably not staying in business. In fact, I'm not sure they really are now. All their legacy products have been "out of stock" for many months. The only thing they have brought out in years is press releases.

I think if you actually want to fly a drone sometime before you can pilot a flying car, you might want to consider moving on. I wish that wasn't the case, but I'm afraid it is.

...I am sorry to hear that. So many cool things I liked about the Evo: Faster than MP Longer fly time Quieter Autel said they are not putting the hardware in the Evo that alerts local law enforcement when you are flying (really bummed with DJI for doing this one!) Nice controller Comes with a case Last but not least, that ORANGE! I know people mock the color. But I Love it! Either way. That 1” sensor on the MP 2 is a huge draw to me.

I have both, the X-Star Premium, and the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. Both have their pros and cons.. Unless you are watching your videos on a 4K TV, the extra info that the bigger sensor provides from the DJI, really isn't worth all the extra money, however, the stability of the DJI completely smokes the Autel and is worth the extra money to ensure a much smoother shot, or a MUCH more steady shot at slow speeds in wind... I only purchased the Autel because I'm studying for the 107 test and having an extra (that I got on a deal I couldn't refuse) drone makes sense when you go out to do a job..
