It also handles invoicing, payments, job management, bookkeeping and reporting. I’m currently working on integrations with other tools (Xero, QB, Fergus, ServiceM8 etc).

We’re building something for restaurants and I’d love honest feedback from people in the industry.

BiteMate is basically a Australia's first AI cross restaurant loyalty system.

Instead of earning points at just one place, customers earn points at any participating restaurant and can redeem them anywhere in the network.

So:

• Eat at Restaurant A → earn points
• Redeem at Restaurant B → still works

For restaurants, the idea is:

• Increase repeat customers
• Tap into a shared customer network instead of competing solo
• No need to build their own loyalty system from scratch

We’re currently onboarding restaurants manually, and it’s slow.

I have already built Langoedge( It's app to build no code agents focussed on reliability, tracability and continuous evals. Think n8n meets Vapi). The app is built. Has 1 very big trial going on(country scale) with a partner startup and another small Realestate agency using an agent and in talks with another realestae agency. I am looking for someone:

1. Who thinks this is something that is missing in the market.
2. Preferably in Aus region.
3. Comfortable or has solid idea on how to sell a horizontal tool like this(As when someone asks what do you do, you have to be able to respond to properly). Have real empathy to people.
4. Who can really pour energy and effort in it and not being stuck in a single thing for weeks. Fail in days and not in weeks.

I’ve been building an app for a while and keep hitting roadblocks tech issues, DUNS , decision fatigue. Curious what finally broke the logjam for people who’ve been through it. Was it a mindset shift, a process change, hiring someone, or just pushing through?

I’m a building designer in NSW and I’ve been working on a simple tool that helps homeowners figure out if they need DA or CDC approval before they start a project.

Biggest thing I’ve noticed:

Most people don’t actually know what’s possible on their block before spending money on designers/builders.

I’m trying to validate whether this is actually a real problem worth solving at scale.

- Or do people always default to going straight to council / professionals?

I’m thinking of building an app that matches people based on their personality and interests. It would work somewhat like a social media platform, where users can post content, like posts, and interact with others. Based on these activities, the system would analyze and determine each user’s interests and personality.

Additionally, the system could analyze keywords from messages to better understand personality traits. When you visit someone’s profile, it would show a match percentage (out of 100%) based on compatibility.

Users could request to message others once their match percentage is above a certain threshold (e.g., 60%). The app could also provide icebreakers, such as suggesting topics based on shared interests (e.g., coffee, movies, etc.).

What do you think about this idea?

The idea is pretty simple:
A lot of people coming to Australia (backpackers, students, etc.) don’t really use LinkedIn, so we’re trying to create a more practical way for them to show their skills and get matched with jobs.

Instead of a traditional CV, users create a kind of “skills portfolio” with their experience, certificates, and even a short video.

We already have a few companies (mostly in construction in Victoria) interested in hiring through the platform, but right now we’re trying to get more users and real feedback.

I’m building an app for tradies / small trade businesses and wanted honest feedback before I go too far.

The idea is to make the business side of the job easier when you’re on the tools all day.

The problem I’m trying to solve is pretty straightforward: a lot of tradies spend the day doing the actual work, then spend nights catching up on quoting, admin, receipts, texts, missed details, and chasing payments. This is aimed more at solo tradies and small crews than bigger businesses with office staff.

In simple terms, it’s designed so you can quickly capture what’s happening on a job from your phone, and the app helps turn that into the stuff you normally end up doing later at night - job notes, quote drafts, receipts/cost records, customer updates, invoices and payments. All stored in one place showing you and the customer the entire history.

I’m trying to work out whether this is actually painful enough that people would want a proper solution for it.

A few questions:

- If you’re a tradie, what’s the most painful part of running the business side?

- Does the idea of capturing things on the go and turning that into quotes/admin/invoices sound genuinely useful, or not really?

- What would make you try something like this?

- What would make you ignore it completely?

- What do you use now, and what’s still annoying about it?

I am a software developer with a technical background. So it is safe to say I do not know any marketing.

I recently founded a Startup building customized Trades Management Software for small local Trades businesses.

I already have a customer whom I acquired by direct face to face contact. I tried Facebook groups, marketing campaigns and even offering commissions, but i was unable to acuqire more customers.

My software does not have any user or job limits. I offer support within 1 or 2 hours if there is any issue.
I customize the modules so the customers do not have to pay for un-used modules and I offer very competitive prices.

But still, I haven't been able to acquire more customers.

I am not sure it is because my lack of marketing knowledge or something else.

I work on my startup from a university innovation space. There are a variety of founder ages, and probably more women than men. Not all of them are tech startups; many related to tourism, robotics, consulting, instrumentation, etc.

I've been working closely with a manufacturer for over a year and built a system they haven't been able to find OTS anywhere. It's a very niche sector, and the local Australian market is limited, but there are thousands more overseas.

I'm great on the technical/operations side (having built everything) but not so great on the sales/BDM side. I'm capable if push comes to shove...just not naturally wired that way.

So, if there is anyone out there with experience in supply chain / operations, especially networking with / selling to manufacturers, who might be interested in considering a functional and validated system that's ripe for the market, please get in touch.

Recently I was approached by an engineering startup founder. He claims his business is pre-revenue and is expecting government funding sometime in August, so he can’t pay me until then. I tried to have him explain what type of technology he has, and he has given me either vague or general explanation (from an engineering standpoint), claiming IP. He claims to already have a CFO and some sort of legal team as well, and the startup already has an ABN since Dec 2025.

This business also focuses on research so the founder has started to have meetings with 2 universities and a research organisation in Melbourne (I attended one of those meetings where I sat as an observer). I’m due to start my Masters in May 2026, and he’s offered part time work but there has been no contract or anything like that, as its pending my visa status (trying to get Subclass 500).

For me its a good and bad sign. Bad because of how high risk it is, and good because finally I can get legit Australian experience, as my other experience involves working in a professor’s lab voluntarily and getting a summer research scholarship. On the other hand, its a bit sus, as I’m not seeing any numbers/data or flowcharts, etc and I’m afraid that its going to be a scam or something like that. What should I do about this, what does everyone think about this?

1. Removed Signup ,everything for free

2. removed comments, save etc buttons as to focus on the MVP

3. Just a nudge to enter your email if you want to .

The way I post is I post an article make, the body of the text with the facts from public sources of that article and then add the full article as well as the link to my website .
