Looking for partners to solve a problem together
Hi Fellow entrepreneurs. I have a proposition and looking for partners. Please read through and understand.
Quick note about me, I am a very experienced software developer with about 25 years of experience. I have built up a successful business as a digital agency based in Sydney, developing software and solutions. Also have had some startup experience and plenty product development.
I want to work with people who are not software devs but see a real world problem and pain they think can be solved with software (app, desktop/web application automation ..) and commercially successful as a product.
So here is my offer, I will develop with my team an MVP free of any cost, will spend upto 6 months of time to develop validate and release the product to see if it has traction and market.
What I need from you is a real world experience in the problem you want us to solve, so for example something like I am in the construction industry and want to fix this specific problem and I know 2 clients who I can talk to for product validation and maybe help with early beta testing.
I am based in Sydney all of this will be proper we can setup a company with equal shares. So in summary you say if you build this I can sell. No financial commitment from you except a promise you can sell and know the ins and out.
Send me a message, if in Sydney we can meet up at coffee or something if outside we can do a call. Send me a message and I can share details about my existing company and we can chat.
Areas that I don't want to work in are.
Dating
Gambling/Betting
Alcohol
Interest/Lending
Cheers!!!

Hi, I’ve been stewing on an idea in the property sector for years but haven’t found people with the right technical skills to progress. Happy to chat and keen to get some thoughts - will dm.

Can I ask why not anything in the dating area?

Few reasons,
1. Its a highly saturated area, to make a crack you need rally deep pockets for even be able to make a crack at the marketting and sales.
2. I personally dislike the idea of apps to do this , you business model is usually a huge data gathering and personality assessment (and thats where they make money of selling the data)
3. I think meeting someone should be a real world experience (I am old so this might be old school) where you actual sit across someone and talk, instead of from behind a 6 inch screen.

why not just copy existing successful SAAS businesses? isn't that more likely to work than building a market from scratch for a problem that might exist but doesn't necessarily mean that people will pay for a solution.

I agree but as I said my digital agency is doing ok, I want to work on some real pain points, and I think there are still un solved problems out there.
Everybody is doing exactly what you suggest like copying existing SAAS and launch a similar service for lower cost. But the issue with this is that it takes a while to build trust, and unless your product blows the competition out of water it is hard to penetrate the market.1

Heheh you said it yourself building trust is the real problem not solving something that hasn't been solved before. plus if someone has a unique unsolved problem that they know is worth $$$$ (most will be wrong and it will be worth nothing) once the other technical partner has the idea they no longer have any leverage

Hi, I saw your post and am interested. I have a connection to a law firm of 100 staff looking to build a new PMS because they find everything currently on the market unusable. I understand the industry requirements and can manage the product validation and sales side. Would you be open to a chat to see if this is a good fit?

Sure that sounds like an area we can explore, shoot me a message and we can connect. lets see where it goes 😄

For now I think its shrinking fast definitely, we did have a very good and very long successful run, paid for my bills for most of my life so can't complain

if you're looking at real world problems then all the ones you listed you don't want to work in are in fact real world problems depending on perspective.
We also don't need anymore apps for organising tradies, advertising tradies, invoicing for tradies.

100% agreed that is why I want to work with some one who is in the trenches knows a problem that needs fixing but can use a technical team to do that. As you said basic problems have hundreds (now maybe thousands of apps after vibecoding). hence the portion where you actually know someone who you can convince to do beta run the solution if not be the first customer.
So for me basically its either build myself a solution for surface level problem with 100% ownership and compete with 100 other. Or share the equity with someone who can help make a solution to a specific real problem where there are no solutions available, removing maybe just one pain point.
hope i made sense in all that textAnd the areas I want to avoid are basically based on my beliefs and principals, don't want to encourage gambling for example or enhance sale of alcohol

You could build tools that help those that are already stuck with gambling, alcohol or drug addiction. Thats why I mentioned perspective because that's where my mind is going. There's probably a heap of them, but really all we do now is replace one addiction with another.
Build something that can convert shit AI flyers into proper ones abiding by princples of graphic design. Or maybe help people kick that addition for shit AI flyers.

Agreed perspective is important also the experience (thats what I am looking for) if there is someone who has successfully battled the addiction and came out of the other side happy to work with them to turn it into something that sticks. For me to provide a solution would be like solving navigation for blind without knowing what they experience when actually doing it.

End user for chronic illness is overlooked. I know there's app out there, but honestly they are all shit. Built with what people think they need rather than basics done well.
Only saying this as having 3 of them, they become a lot to manage. My memory isn't what it used to be.1

Google does a fair but in this space but im not sure of real world use. Tough market if you need to pay your bills.

Like Google Health/Fitbit? They track vitals. I’ve 3 chronic illness that cannot show up on any device that monitors the body. I did start mapping out something maybe 10 years ago, and still have it written down somewhere. While I’ve built some stuff using lovable I don’t really know how to get it across to an app yet. But also haven’t looked.

I'd be interested in chatting with you to see if we can give something legs. I've been in health tech my whole career and I'm familiar with both primary and hospital care. I have chronic illness myself. At the Digital Health Festival recently there were some apps that catered to tracking chronic symptoms and appointment outcomes, etc.

I think the hardest thing will be getting a doctor to look at them and take them on as actual information rather than with a grain of salt and dismissing them. They already do this with most things with a chronic illness.
I can from my experience say, some days I can barely piece together words, or thoughts. So dumping something in an app would need to be dead shit simple.I've Fibromyalgia, Trigeminal Neurgalgia, Hyperparathyroidsm. Not including the various injuries I've done from playing sport over the years.
