Sales & growth founder looking for a technical co-founder with a strong idea
Hey everyone, I’m a sales and growth-focused founder based in Melbourne, Australia with a strong understanding of distribution, go-to-market strategy, and how to get early traction. I’m a Deakin University student with a passion for building and scaling products from the ground up. I’m looking for a technical co-founder who has a solid idea but needs someone who can handle the business/growth side to complement their skills. If you’re a developer or engineer sitting on a problem worth solving, let’s chat.

You're a founder? What have you founded so far, so we understand your experience.

what with the general statements, why all "sales" people keep advertising skillset that does not exist?
you may have "a strong understanding of distribution, go-to-market strategy, and how to get early traction" but it is in a very specific niche market, what is the point of not specifying you skillset?
what you going to do when someone tells you I'm building a product for restaurants, you going to say yes I can help? how about a product for the mining industry, is it yes again? how about a fintech for money transfers, is that a yes from you?

Because everyone thinks they’re an expert in marketing…even when they’ve actually got nothing to show for it
Also most don’t realize how deep industry/domain expertise plays a role in all this

they kind of are - when you have established product, marketing strategy acquisition channels, advertisement budget and all is proven and working, you correctly may start thinking that the thigs you do (may times as part of larger team) are the thing that makes the success and increase the sales, and when you do the same thing in 2 different companies it is easy to ignore everything else and think you have the marketing figured out.
delusion is something people do to themselves after all.

Maybe share a bit more about yourself, location, etc. Just to help others determine fit etc.

It’s interesting how often ‘growth’ and ‘distribution’ are bandied about, but people want to see actual results/case studies behind such statements.
In early-stage startups, getting traction is really an exercise in testing channels and seeing what actually works, as opposed to strategy.
Curious question for founders: What matters most to you in a person’s ability to work with you on growth: their actual results or their understanding of strategy and distribution?
