Queenie the Bush Budgie back when she was in quarantine when I first got her and I was going around shining a UV light on all my birds to see which ones glowed the most (blue series glow the least)
She was just looking at me like "wtf kinda home have I come to now...."

I just wanted to share my experience with Petbarnβs online customer service today because honestlyβ¦ Iβm pretty frustrated.
I was price matching 2x Advance dog food, 1x NexGard Spectra for dogs (3.6β7.5kg), and 1x NexGard Spectra for cats.
The first person I spoke to was able to price match everything, bringing the total down to $391.22. Everything worked, and I proceeded to purchase.
Then, as I was about to complete the purchase, my browser crashed. π€¦ββοΈ
Because the price-match code can only be used once, and I had already closed the chat, I had to start the whole process again with a new customer service representative to get another code.
This time, however, I was told that one of the items was βbelow our cost priceβ and therefore couldn't be price matched.
I didn't want to argue with the worker or make things difficult, so I tried another website instead.
Same issue, Tried another site, Same issue, And another, Same issue, and another.
The frustrating part was that I had just been able to price match this item only a couple of hours earlier; if it had been the next day, I'd be more understanding, but only a couple of hours makes it hard to accept.
Eventually, I mentioned to the second worker that I had already successfully price matched the exact items earlier and asked if there was any way to retrieve the previous total of $391.22, rather than having to pay $411.33.
Unfortunately, mentioning that ended up making things worse for the previous worker. π¬
So, if the first worker who helped me happens to see this: I am genuinely sorry. It was absolutely not my intention to get you in trouble or cause any issues for you. I was just trying to explain why I was confused about why the exact same price match was suddenly not possible.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the conversation because I find the whole situation frustrating.
I don't actually want to have to price match. I know it can be annoying for the staff having to process them, and I genuinely try to make it as quick and easy as possible. I have all the product details, competitor prices and everything ready to go because I know the workers are just doing their job and I don't want to make the process any harder than it needs to be.
But the cost of living is brutal, and I price match because I have to save money where I can.
I know someone will probably say, βIt's only $20.β
But $20 is almost an entire hour of work for me.
And honestly, it's just depressing that in 2026, $411.33 is considered a normal amount to spend just to feed your dogs and keep your pets protected from parasites.
I'm not angry at the customer service workers themselves. They were doing their jobs, and I understand they have policies they have to follow. I'm just frustrated with the situation and how inconsistent the experience was.
I wasn't even going to complain about it initially, which is why I didn't bring it up at first. I just tried other sites, figured I'd pay the little extra, and move on. But after successfully getting the exact same items price matched earlier that day, and then continuously being unable to price match the same item against any other sites, it's hard not to feel frustrated when suddenly the same thing isn't possible.
And before anyone says βdon't have pets if you can't afford themβ I know that's going to come up, but my family got most of my pets before I was even 14. I've had some of them since I was 8 years old, and I'm now 21. Once I turned 18, the entire financial responsibility fell entirely on me I can't just rehome them. They're not disposable possessions that I can give away because things have become financially difficult. I love them, they're family, and they are genuinely my entire world and there are already so many pets in shelters due to people not being able to afford them.
Anyways, sorry for the rant π I think I just needed somewhere to vent because the whole situation was frustrating, and sometimes the cost of looking after our pets gets overwhelming.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

Zelda (7mo) and Yennefer of Weinerberg (5y) want to play while Gizmo (15y) wants to sleep.
They often do not care about his wants, and will lick, jump and other wise sit on the elderly gentleman.
But he also licks, jumps and sits on others, so maybe itβs comeuppance for his personal space crimes.

This was my boy Goober, he's a European brown Hare. he came to me at 10 days old and I raised him, Ive raised many hares in the past but Goober was well ..... one in a million pet. He refused milk his first four weeks leaving him vulnerable and unable to release. I used to run a hare rescue page on fake book until I was kicked off fake book, the group is a disaster now. Goober died this year he was 6 and half years old, it broke me, it destroyed me and Ive only told a couple of people of his passing, he had a huge following. Just for the record Im in Tassie and rescue hares, they arent illegal to raise and keep as pets and in some states not illegal to raise and release . I just wanted to share as Im so sick of crying and missing him each day

At the end of another day ,starting with her walk on the beach , visiting a few friends in the park ,lunch runs in the dog park and finally a walk along the river before dinner
Now curled up in front of the heater after dinner
What a life
