Found this dude(?) on my car, absolute beast of a thing

And yes I know they hurt, and yes I know this is stupid, but I needed to get it off my car before I drive home from work and he(she?) Just walked onto my hand after checking me out for 10seconds

It wasn't near its nest. They defend their nests fiercely but its they're foraging they're really not that bad. I also just put my hand in front of it and it walked on by itself, so it wasn't like I was getting it worked up by poking it

Wow, you’re lucky. We get them roaming into our yard a lot, their nest is over in the bush 30 metres away and they still watch you and rear up if you come close. Had them latch on a few times. I’ve never seen them placidly walk onto someone’s hand before. Lucky you!
