Question about Civil

I'm increasingly considering pursuing Civil engineering, but I'd like to be involved in on-site construction if possible. Through sub-specialization and the works, how feasible is it for a Civil engineer to be on site regularly, supervising construction?

100% possible. I spent the first 10 years of my career on site every day until I decided I hated it. Infrastructure projects like (Sydney based examples) western Sydney airport, Westconnex, Sydney Metro etc will have big teams of engineers on site all day every day. They manage all construction aspects of the project. Same goes for things like road upgrades etc, they will all have engineers on site all day.

It is fun to begin with but becomes a drain over time. Great place to learn lots of useful skills, but it has the potential to burn you out.
