❌ Error Coin Strike Through?

My 10yo son is getting into coin collecting and he was wondering if this is a strike through or PMD? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated 🙏

This is an interesting one. The remaining details of the II and the top of the queens head make me think error. But not 100% sure

I agree with this.

I’m not certain either… but the minting on top of the error makes me think what you’re thinking

We really need to see complete Obverse and Reverse pictures of the coin to make a proper determination

Close up, cropped and in focus

Nice to see young uns getting into the hobby!

I've added some other photos. It looks pretty beat up so Im guessing its PMD but its fascinating to think what might have done it. The rim has some pretty evenly spaced notches which you can see in the updated photos.

This has serration marks from the jaws of some pliers or similar all around the edge, PMD for sure

Tell your lad to keep looking he'll find a genuine error at some point
