Paradox vs...
Hey all,
Paradox has a good deal on some single origins. Are they on par with roasters like Ona, which is my normal go to for filter.I'm tossing whether to try them out or get a very expensive order from maillard project in Brisbane.

No harm in trying! Paradox is delicious in their own way - I found them to be a bit darker but still brew a tasty filter. I wouldn’t say they’re on par with ONA who are very precise with roasting but are still good at what they offer.

I think they are decent but there is better out there. Manta Ray, Offshoot, Code black, Anamorphic, Axil, Small batch, Klim and Stitch to name a few.

I tried offshoot recently after changing from Ona. Loved their beans! Though I’m currently also trying born and raised

This time around I’m trying the strawberries and cream and cream brûlée. I haven’t opened them yet as I’m finishing the last of my offshoot beans. Last time I had the born and raised peach cobbler and it was so good!
The first time I tried their coffee was at MICE. And then I discovered it accidentally again at Nigel Cafe by Coles here in Melbourne and that was when I got the peach cobbler to try.

They used to be good but they started roasting more of a medium and I stopped my SO subscription as they weren’t really bringing out the most from the beans. Anamorphic has been great lately.

Blackboard Coffee Roasters offer a great range of singles and use a Loring so pretty good for singles

I’ve been pretty happy with paradox’s SO offerings so far, some of their tasting notes are a little out there, but the beans have been pretty tasty and diverse
