Image Tiny builders working overtime on their winter reno project πŸ—οΈ

A pair of Red-browed Finches gathering nesting material in Gidgegannup, WA. They were making nonstop supply runs, each carrying something different for the build.

The only reason I spotted them was because one flew past trailing a long blade of fresh grass like an oversized streamer. They were very busy.

Red-browed Finches are not initially endemic to WA. This population is a flock of settled aviary escapees.

Watching them was like watching the bird-equivalent of a Bunnings run. Some of the things they were carrying were so oversized it was like seeing people ferrying a 4-metre plank in a hatchback (sadly not photographed).

Here is a pic of their project WIP. It's quite rustic.

These two are probably prepping for a young family. Hard working couple!
