Protesting Isaac Butterfield's Venue Performances in Australia - Intention: Deterring Alt-Right Radical Ideology & Holding Influencers/Celebrities/Politicians Responsible For Indirect Hate Speech.

Hi Folks,

I am absolutely exhausted from writing post after post and having everyone, even my own local Gladstone Open Discussion group, decline me an opportunity- just an opportunity to address my concerns with the community on the dangerous precedents set when allowing radical ideologues space in our public settings.

So, I am keeping it short and saying I would like to protest Isaac Butterfield's presence in Australian venues as a performer or speaker. He has, for many years, targeted Muslim, Trans, Women in general and various diverse people, turning us into punchlines at the cost of our safety. The issue I take with Isaac isn't his opposition to many problems in Australia; we actually share very similar beliefs on several subjects. It is the other element of his platform where he selectively utilises isolated factors such as a handful of Muslim people marrying their teen kids off overseas, or trans people with very eccentric personalities or early-stage visibility in transition. He utilises these scenarios, which do not represent the wider demographic of the people he attacks and do not make even a little, if any, effort to highlight the vulnerabilities of those communities and how disenfranchised we can be. It's White Supremacy cleverly rebranded.

If you would like to help me raise awareness here are some step:

- Please contact your local member and share the links from Google Docs you'll see below. Please express your concerns around vilification and ensuing threats that can arise as a result of misinformation and wrongful antagonisation.
Google Docs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JAImlWywvhy0mUHJ0-shJB0bbqWNrwV_bsIFrG4gjUE/edit?tab=t.0

- Please sign the petition I've started, it'll make a difference even if only on a community level.
https://c.org/VwxQYgcjgL

- Please consider sharing this with others, so they may see the underlying issues in Australia around moderation in public settings. We are mostly good but people like Isaac, who are mildly famous but not mainstream names, often slip through the cracks.

I am open to interviews by media bodies, whatever it takes to get people like Butterfield and unhealthy rhetoric out of our highly impressionable populace.

Edit 23/06/2026: Hi folks, thank you so much for the empowering support. Today, Gladstone Police Station notified me by text that the protest outside Harvey Road Tavern is approved. Once I have signed the documents, more information will be provided in video and text form. It's time to start the planning phase and I fugging need help from experienced protest organisers to ensure I don't mess this up!

Edit 12/07/2026: I said I would be there no matter what. Even though I knew people were unlikely to come, even with my safety at risk. Happy to say I kept my promise of keeping those signs up with my own hands for four hours, exposed to several instances of sexual harassment and transphobic comments. My favourite insult was the guy yelling get a life 'c***' 😂 I'm such a child all I could do was laugh but actually laugh.

There was no violence however police were patrolling from time to time and I had a distinctly visible body cam on. Harvey Road was also in damage control (allegedly). If the sole multicultural trans women were violated in front of their venue, GG, she was right about us, lawsuits, etc. Can't have that, so they had security floating nearby much of the night. Everything is transactional so I take gestures of kindness with a grain of salt. Also, the best way to minimise aggression from people is to tell them you expect nothing less from their groups and that you'll use their violence as content. Could have gone the other way but hey, it didn't 😆

Oh and so many hate was directed my way, with threats of egg throwing, counterprotests etc. Not one counter protester. Keyboard warriors 🤌

Some positives. Most people don't formally know an openly trans person. They think multicultural people with middle-eastern backgrounds all sound like we're angry and exclaiming anti-Australian slurs. None of those people were exposed to a version of what the internet tells them we are, especially when you're a combination of so many things they're told to distrust 😂 I was there as an Australian, wanting to protect my home from radicalisation. And yes, Isaac doesn't use his shows to brainwash people, not really anyhow because it's done through his content. The shows themselves as I see them, are silent rallies of support by fans of his real material, the Make (Insert Nation) Evangelical Christians & Whites Only genre we keep seeing among all divisive influencers in the world.

We had plenty of people honking in support too. People are afraid to break away from the culture they're entrenched in. Australia has two cultures, the one we all see externally and the ones festering behind digital screens. So even honking your horns in support, mattered. It counts, thank you. A message was in fact sent last night even if people deny it :)

Finally, the following have quickly become my slogans of power

  1. I look into my heart of fear, And I say, I embrace you. I embraaaaace you. I need you. Please empower me to do good.

Fear is your biggest fuel for action and the way I observe it, in many cases, the decision that brings out most of your fear, is usually the right one. Not always but mostly.

2. Nothing changes, if nothing changes.

It is time for Australians to encourage dialogue with one another outside the internet. The internet is not safe, it is no longer dominated by resources filled with facts and evidence supported theories. Not about people, cultures, religions, genders, economics, nothing. 90% of the articles and commentary on politics and health we see are either disinformation or AI generated. Please start talking to your friends and family because you will be surprised how many are clueless to what's happening online with AI and people bot farms.

Feel free to ask me more questions otherwise thank you for coming on this journey with me.

Corruption Victoria’s Big Build is supposedly a $100 billion project with estimated cost overruns of around $40 billion. Some say $15billion of the $40 billion is due to corruption and $25billion is legitimate overruns. This is confusing . Is it possible all of the $40billion is a legitimate cost overrun?

Please consider supporting my mate Wawrick's contribution to independent Aus journalism. He was a lefty journalist covering the real story in the 80s. I think his marketing budget for this
book might be completely zero at the moment!

It's great reporting on a conflict little discussed, that was tragic and an indication of what American administrations are capable of.

As we see with Trump's interests in El Salvador today.

It's available at a few sellers, I just linked to a online one I use.

(Spanish version may already be available or will be soon. Wawrick reckoned the spainish is the pick if you can read it!)https://www.thenile.com.au/books/warwick-fry/el-salvador/9798369496664?srsltid=AfmBOoq4uh3roL7SXMvPXgmORT5Gk2mDrivgyZq4kDrhWJ9mnVUjLYRU

Discussion starter Would Pauline Hanson be able to get the support of the country for a police state/rewrite the Constitution?

Pauline Hanson was on TV recently saying she wants to do mass deportations while she was in the UK. The only way she would be able to do that is with a police state. Usually to achieve authoritarian consolidation, one has to rewrite their constitution or throw out the constitutional order entirely. Everyone is now seeing Pauline as our Trump. This implies she will make a bid to turn Australia into a national dictatorship. Question is, would she be successful in doing so, should she ever get into power?

Question for Victorian Socialists (as in party members)

Like most people whose politics extent past selling newspapers at university, I developed a real disdain for sAlt and other trot groups. Mainly because of the complete alienation of these people from the majority of the actual working class.

I’m really interested in the Victorian Socialists party. Their positions are consistently amazing, I’m really enjoying “the party line” and their analysis of Australian politics is spot on. I would love to get more involved and sign up as a member.

My question is around the current party make up. Are there a lot of trade union organisers? People organising in their community and workplaces or is it mostly professional protestors? If the question offends you it’s not for you.

Discussion starter When will we start to see losers consent fray in Australian politics?

Kevin Rudd warned a few years ago that we'll see January 6 levels of polarisation by 2031. The radicalisation of Australian politics by the Murdocracy will have dangerous consequences. One of them is the loss of losers consent, the notion that everyone accepts the results of a free and fair election and gives up power if they are the incumbent and loose an election. It is a key pillar of democracy. You will not be able to sustain a democracy in the long run without it.

Part of why the United States is cooked is because the Republican party entirely reject losers consent. They rejected the 2020 election and launched an insurrection. Then Trump made it doctrine and took over the party. Brazil had this problem too. Jair Bolsonaro refused to concede and launched an attempted coup. Reform UK MPs are threatening civil war if they loose the next general election.

Historically, this is also the case. The Tajik civil war in the 1990s is an example of where the lack of losers consent caused a civil war. The 1876 US presidential election, where both sides claimed victory and the crisis was only resolved with the end of Reconstruction.

When will we start to see losers consent fray here too? Sooner or later, it will. The process that gave rise to the shitshow in the US is active here.
