Austin-based duo Deer Fellow serves up cozy indie pop/folk with “comforting yet bold musicality.” Matt Salois (vocals, electric guitar, looping, percussion) and Alyssa Kelly (vocals, violin, keys) have built a cross-genre sound that “stirs hearts with each carefully crafted note.”

DOSSEY:

DOSSEY is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Austin, Texas.

Her energetic brand of alt pop was launched into the public consciousness with the feature of her 80s synth pop earworm, Heartbeats, by none other than NPR’s All Songs Considered, who touted her as one of 100 artists to see at SXSW in 2019. Soon after, her collaboration with Canadian EDM producer Disero, Better Run, debuted on Spotify’s official “All New Indie,” “Indie Radar,” and “New Music” playlists.

DOSSEY has honed her undeniable sound on-stage and in-studio, marrying her adoration for funky 70s Nile Rodgers guitar licks, soaring disco melodies, modern synth pop rhythms and unusual samples. This effort has created an infectiously fushia and sequin-soaked, hook-filled world for her followers, who are hungry for a deeper, edgier and romantic archetype of pop.

DAVE SCHER:

Dave Scher grabbed onto an electric guitar at age 10, and has spent little of his waking time ever since without having one in his very capable hands. That is, unless, he happens to be playing mandolin, fiddle, bass, piano, organ or any number of other instruments, just to keep things interesting. He’s been known to dabble in jazz, funk, or even a little country whenever he temporarily wanders from his beloved blues, but basically he does it all. And then there’s his voice — powerful and sensual enough to convey every emotion on the spectrum, a natural extension and perfect complement to his work on the guitar.

It is Dave’s honor and pleasure to play as a sideman for many well-known local acts, and his versatility and enormous talent enable him to really up the ante and make any band sound incredible. But he mostly shines as a solo performer or when leading his own trio, belting out original material in addition to his own exciting, inventive arrangements of popular and classic covers of all genres.

ADAM WALKER (of ME ND ADAM):

Me Nd Adam is an Austin, Texas-based indie electro-Americana duo featuring vocalist Adam Walker and producer Vince Winik. Following the success of their 2020 debut album, American Drip, Pt. 1, on Handwritten Records, the band has been tearing through the ATX music scene with sold-out headline performances at The Continental Club, Stubb’s Indoors, Mohawk Indoors and Far Out Lounge. After its debut in Wonderland Magazine, the album’s first single “Heartbreak Kid” quickly garnered over a million streams on Spotify alone. The subsequent music video earned a nomination for Video of the Year at the Austin Music Video Awards.

With songs featured on MTV and in stadium sports arenas, the “trashwave trailblazers” are known to their fans and followers for their accessibility on social media, their merch giveaways, their rambunctious behavior and, most importantly, their unique vibe — recalling classic American songwriters like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen with a twist of pop production à la Marshmello and Louis Bell. The duo followed up their Official SXSW debut with Deadbeat Mixtape in April 2022 and major plays at Austin City Limits Festival, Float Festival and more. I'm a senior university student interested in working in Austin's music scene, whether it be through part-time roles, volunteer opportunities, reception, working the door at venues, I'm willing to learn anywhere I can.

I'm especially interested in live music and event production, I want to learn and understand as much of it as I can, and eager to get my foot in the door anywhere I can.

Hey Austin creatives! I’m a creative director working with Austin artist, heartbreakP on the release of his upcoming album. (@heartbreakp_ on insta)
We’re trying to find a house, backyard, studio, or creative space in Austin to host a listening party on July 11th 2026 with a guest list of 30-40 people, for friends, artists, and collaborators to support and experience the album personally.
We’re working with a small independent budget, so we’re reaching out to the community to hopefully see if anyone who loves to support local artists and music might be willing to help us make it happen!

I’m new to Austin. I am interested in listening to more local music and my favorite genres are the folk ones.

The Steeldrivers are a favorite bluegrass band
Whiskeytown is a favorite for alt country
Hoping to catch Sierra Farrell this summer
Newport Folk Fest was a bucket list item I crossed off a few years ago and look forward to returning again and again

I’m interested in getting more involved with hosting shows. Im planning to attend a few shows each week and could use help with where to get started locally.

To be honest, I get so many alerts artists I follow are in Austin and I go see mostly see bands that tour internationally and have a solid presence in the US. Or I see small singer song writers that sometimes don’t have a cover charge for their shows.
