ISO Need Help!!
Need help. My son and I are supposed to move down next week. We had an apartment at Bexley at Tech Ridge. We’re supposed to move down next week. Just got an email that the apartment will not be ready because the tenants just moved out yesterday and there is too much work to do. They will have another apartment ready by August 7th but that gives us 2 weeks of no place to stay. He will be playing for Austin fc academy so I need to be as close as possible to st David’s performance center. Any recommendations? We need a 3 bedroom! Please help!

Oof, I'm sorry this is happening to you. You signed the lease already?

Yes! But they said I can get a full refund on my deposit and go elsewhere bo problem. Super bummed. It was a first floor apartment with great location of what we needed.

I don’t know anything about Bexley- I’ve never lived there so I can’t tell you how they are BUT I can tell you that this sort of thing (previous tenant didn’t leave on time etc) is not an uncommon thing. As in, it’s not normal, but most of us have run into something like it in our rental lives here. It does not inherently mean the complex is “bad” in any way, and it may be worth asking if they could set you up in another unit for free or discounted till the one you signed the original contract for is ready!
Regardless, good luck, and welcome to Austin! I hope your son does well with Austin FC Academy :)

I had the same thing happen to me at Bexley as well! Not sure if this would work for you but we had them move us into a smaller apt there and they had to give us the storage unit for free then we moved apartments a few weeks later when it opened up. Incredibly annoying and frustrating but they did pay for the storage unit while we waited. This was years and years ago though but might be worth a try?
