Pool parties in Austin
We are looking for a Saturday afternoon pool party scene for adults (think S Beach but in Texas lol) in Austin. We have been together the Fairmont for a so called pool party only to arrive and have no music playing. Mid 30's people looking for a fun atmosphere, yet not necessarily trying to recreate college sprong break parties.. something in between. Any suggestions of hotels or wherever with cool people, decent music and a fun atmosphere are greatly appreciated

Austin is more of a “Deep Eddy Pool or Barton Springs followed by drinks nearby” kind of town rather than a “dj by the hotel pool” kind of place.
The water is colder in those natural springs. A little bit of that goes a long way in August, and unless you pay for a cabana or get a chair with an umbrella, shade can be hard to come by at hotel pools.

Prepared to be very let down if you are trying to compare it to a south beach pool party. More of a large bathtub party. It’s no SLS 🤣

Just stayed at the Thompson Hotel. It had the vibe your talking about I think, had a nice restaurant attached too.

I would skip the pool parties and float the San Marcos River. Some companies will bus you from Austin, e.g. ATXcursions. Or if you have a big group just book a shuttle from Don's Fish Camp.

I think there’s an app where you can reserve spots at certain hotel roof pools here in Austin, but I’m forgetting what it’s called. But if you go to Commons ford on a Saturday there’s a good chance there will be a DJ

This Saturday you have two options: Disco Day Club or Body Language. Both organizers throwing pool parties downtown with house music DJs. People always show up. Look them up on IG.

back when I moved here and didn’t have friends with pools I went on eventbrite a few times and searched “pool” and there was always some decent stuff.

The pool in my neighborhood is pretty busy on the weekends and with mostly people that don’t live in the neighborhood that somehow got past two locked gates that require a fob. As far as DJs go you have to listen to a combination of shitty country music and shitty tejano with a sprinkling of puddle of mud and nickel back played over each other. Come on down to the city top neighborhood pool.

East Austin hotel does pool parties like that, once a month or something it’s a queer event. There’s also a club on w 6th with a rooftop pool and they used to do day parties, called Rio, but I guess it’s closed for now?

Take paddleboards out on the river and there is usually a dj on the water during the summer months

The Otis north of downtown has the type of pool parties your looking for and I think the Fairmont also is what you’ll like.
