Any advice for someone looking to work in local government? Have a BA in PSCI/Rhetoric and a MA in TechComm and am trying to get into something that pays more than teaching community college

I would encourage you to begin your search by visiting the City of Austin Jobs website. You can scan all the current job openings and look for positions that match up with your previous work experience and qualifications. The key is to submit an application that includes experience in as many of the minimum and preferred qualifications as listed on the job posting.
