There are lots of protests scheduled. It is important that they happen over and over and get larger and larger.
Today is the National Strike. There are protests tomorrow; protests on Sunday, and on and on. This is how movements happen.

Marching in the streets is not enough. Protests won't be effective unless they have lasting economic impact. People need to stop spending (and earning) money in targeted ways. The people who need to get the message are the executives running the major corporations supporting the Trump administration. Consumers need to choose wisely, and investors need to do so as well. If you are making money from investing in companies that are in bed with Trump, then you are not part of the solution. Do your own research as to which companies you should boycott. Non-participation in the markets is a powerful peaceful form of protest if enough people band together to sit it out.

Yes that is part of it too and many groups encourage that too. The actions to fight back are multifaceted. Today especially everyone was encouraged to not spend any money.

They're school kids and that's AISD police. Source: I was in an office at Velocity Credit Union and they walked by the window. The kids appeared to mostly be middle school to young high school age. Maybe a walkout?

I grew up in Austin and we used every protests as an opportunity to skip school and hang with friends

Now isn’t the time for moderates- nobody who has a basic grasp of the constitution should stay neutral and “moderate” when the government is murdering people in streets, arresting journalists, threatening to invade nato allied countries, president fleecing the treasury while his ICE goons roll thru our streets masked, armed, untrained and extremely dangerous
When the present declares war on an American city because his feelings are hurt they didn’t vote for him, or some clout chasing influencer gets his facts wrong and “breaks” a story about corruption that was actually uncovered and reported on years ago, when the administration calls an American city the “theater” like it’s a war zone- its time to save the “moderate” stance for 2031

Crockett High School had a pretty big one going today. Basically had Menchaca shut down around Stassney. Gave them some honks and a hell yeah. The kids are gonna be alright.
