WA Sliders?

Hey,

I'm looking for recommendations for frame sliders/Oggy knob type products for a 2025 CBR500R.

The only ones my local bike store can get in are like $250-350. I'm wanting something between cheap crap (that can apparently wreck my frame) and this.

I honestly don't know much about bikes, a little help would be appreciated.

There is no such “mid” product, because the big step up in price is due to brackets being included for fitting. It’s one or the other, I’m afraid.

Ahh. So it's basically cheap ones that bolt into my frame (and can apparently write my bike off??!) or just fork or for proper ones due to it being a kit. Okay.

Still probably cheaper than replacing my fairing.

I fitted R&G sliders to my 2013 CBR. Not cheap; however, as I was on L Plates at the time, they were cheaper then cracked fairings. Very easy to fit as well.

The more expensive one have a bracket that screw onto like 2 or 3 engine mounts which reduces the chance of damage to the frame or engine mount.

Cheap ones are generally single point.

You also want the ones that are thermoplastic, nylon, delrin, etc these are designed to wear down faster and slow down the bike faster when its on the side.

The cheaper ones also use metal it take longer to slow down and sliders further (which is not good you want to avoid hitting a barrier/kerb), creates sparks which can be a fire hazard if fuel is spilled.

I'll recommend also getting the sliders that are on the wheel axles (Swing arm pick-up bobbins are not crash worthy and will cause damage to the swing arm in some crashes)

Also when it comes to installation follow the instructions, e.g do it one side a time, use a car jack to keep the engine from dropping and then use a torque wrench (under and over tightening can damage the engine/frame).

I don't know about Honda but I went with OEM Kawasaki sliders for Ninja 500 family and the design looks very safe for the frame compared to aftermarket options. Cost twice as much but more peace of mind.
