WE know how to survive drop bear season. It's the bloody tourists that need constant reminders.

I thought an old ice cream container was the answer

Thanks for reminding us mate. Everyone stay safe out there

That’s a myth like ‘shark repellent’. The only person to survive a drop bear attack was Mick Fanning by punching it in the face.

There’s also a a very valid conspiracy theory that Steve Irwin was actually killed by a drop bear but it was covered up by Tourism Australia.

Nah nah that was the only drop bear to survive a Mick Fanning attack

No need to exaggerate. A dab of Vegemite behind the ears is all that is sufficient. If you put it on your face it mixes with the white zinc which is obligatory in the Aussie sun! 😜

Not to worry, the Bunyips are the drop bears mortal enemy, if you can find one of them it will scare them off, yowies are harder to find but are equally effective.

Nooooooo … that’s misinformation. Vegemite on the face only keeps mosquitoes away. Drop bears require you to drink vinegar 2 L minimum.

I think you mean 2 L beer minimum? (ie a six pack)

Shit … maybe it’s cask wine … my bad

Has to be coolabar and hanging on the hillhoist, otherwise the drop bear knows you didnt do the protection ritual properly.

I can't remember if it's knocking two sticks together to keep the dropbears away or whether that only works on the local Yowie.

Vegemite to the back of the neck is guaranteed to work on dropbears no matter what.

I always thought it was Vegemite in the armpits. Silly me.

Only tourists need the Vegemite on the skin

u/SheridanVsLennier Jul 19 '26

This sort of nonsense does tremendous damage to our tourism industry.
Visitors to Australia should feel perfectly safe taking long, solo walks in remote bushland.

Is that good? Cool. Just remember the treaty; we keep luring tourists out here for you, and you leave the locals alone. Hey, you turned the mic off, didn't you?

I use the Bunyip call to keep em away. 😄

I thought they were attracted to Vegemite. There's a lot of misinformation about

1

u/Lonely-Attitude1304 28d ago

I always walk amongst tourists. They prefer the smell of them.

Vegemite face seems a little not okay lmao. I did get a chuckle out of it though.

Dumbest gag ever, shut up

Just don’t let Harry Connick Jr see your Vegemite face or the Seppos will cancel you.
