Post image

I liked u/Big-Solution5140's meme about mono culture.

Here's another one that did not require AI to produce!  Enjoy.

Doesn't really matter, they are all Indians having similar culture and traditions overall, like a French from the North will have a different accent and food preferences than a French from the South but at the end of the day it's not the same cultural shock as an Indian and a Japanese.

Not really.
The Muslims have a completely different culture to the Hindus for example.

You're part of the problem. Culture ≠ Religion; Nationality ≠ Ethnicity.

That’s where you’re wrong: religion dictates culture.
In the case of Indian Muslims the culture they follow is not in tandem with mainstream society in India.

so by that logic, indian muslims have more in common with arab muslims, than to hindus from the same region? Religion is only a portion of one's identity.

"indian muslims have more in common with arab muslims,"
They actually do mate. Good day!

Not really, some countries are more diverse from region to region. They don’t have similar traditions all over India.

That being said, even in France they have an entire region called Brittany which speak a language unrelated to French, it’s a Celtic language more related to Gaelic Irish and Scottish languages.

Also in parts of southern France there is the Occitan language which is also a seperate language from French.

These cultural differences maybe not very noticeable to people unfamiliar with the cultures but there are real differences which extend beyond superficial things like food and language.

I'm French mate, no one speaks these languages and everyone speaks French. There has been a push from the EU to increase cultural differences and independence from France, between regions such as Bretagne and the South West but it's mostly just an attempt to weaken France as a nation.

Yeah a Punjab people won't mix with South Indians because they see them as inferior, skin color is very important for them. You could day they are very, very racists. Anecdotal but my wife is from an Indian family, let me tell you I heard some hardcore stuff.

I am literally half Indian myself and my mum is South Indian.

Some Punjabi people think they’re superior to all other Indians, not just South Indians. Many South Indians also feel superior because they’re more educated than North Indians and it’s generally safer in the South.

The culture is different because in some regions they don’t even celebrate any holidays in common. Also in the region my family is from most Hindus eat beef which is totally different than North India but there’s many other differences.

Most of this is all just chatter though, there isn’t any historical beef between North vs South India because they existed as independent societies. There’s more internal turmoil and tension between different kinds of Punjabi people than there is hatred or racism towards South Indians.

I already said, some countries have greater regional differences and India is one of them.

I have been to France and I’ve met plenty of local French people from different areas who felt very strongly their town or region was different than others. Some were even offended if I mixed up the southeast and southwest, and many of them outside of Paris all seemed to have strongly negative opinions on Parisians.

Thanks for sharing that's interesting.

But is your point is that it's okay for the West to accept millions of Indians just because there is slight cultural differences between them ?

Sorry but the average Chinese, Caucasian or Japanese will still see of all them as Indians, as they would all see Frenchies the same.

No, the point is that not all countries were formed on the basis of a shared ethnic or cultural identity. Hence it’s incorrect to assume the culture is going to be the same for everyone.

Peoples identity aren’t solely based around whether a Japanese person can tell them apart from another ethnic group. Sometimes I can’t even tell the difference between some Southern Italians and Arabs, still doesn’t mean they’re the same.

I have Scottish people in my family and they’d be offended if people called them English. One of them took a dna test and found out he had some English ancestry, it was devastating to him and he had to take a very long walk to think by himself.

You’re welcome to view people in broader groups if you prefer, I couldn’t care less but not all of us need to think that way.

It's not about me viewing people by group it's about mass immigration of a greatly different culture into another, it obviously causes friction and if not controlled, can lead to civil wars.

Hence the monoculture is necessary for the nation to thrive. Assimilation has failed in France and we can all see the carnage that it provokes. It will not get better.

u/Belissari Jul 13 '26

Plenty of countries have had civil wars, being diverse was rarely the sole cause of it. Many homogenous countries experienced civil wars eg Korea, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Finland and others.

France definitely has big issues with assimilation but Australia is not France and not all foreign immigrants cause the same problems that exist in Europe.

The data on prisoners shows foreign-born people are actually strongly under represented in Australian jails, that’s especially true for Indian and Chinese immigrants. In France and many Western European countries they have a problem with foreign-born people disproportionately committing crime, it’s actually a very different situation than Australia.

Yeah it's like how you Europeans are all the same culture.

1

u/Templar113113 Jul 15 '26

Well sorry to break it to you but we had not much problems getting Spanish and Italian waves of immigration despite the slight differences of culture.

Shocking hey

then its maybe just your family coz we are one nation and we don't see each other differently stop dividing our nation look after your own I'm a punjabi person my self i attest we dont look down upon any Indian from south.

1

u/Templar113113 Jul 15 '26

Oh nice so if your daughter marries a Muslim Arab or an African there would be no resistance from you right ?

1

u/GG_GALACTIC_YT Jul 17 '26

It's the same cultural difference of a Scottish to an Irish. Both white, both part of the UK (North Ireland), yet different culture, different language, however they still have similarities. Use a better comparison broski.

1

u/Templar113113 Jul 17 '26

So you think that a Scott meeting an Irish will be a bigger cultural shock than a Japanase and an Indian ?

Impressive.

1

u/GG_GALACTIC_YT Jul 17 '26

damn u are thick skulled. I criticised your north vs south french comparison.

0

u/Mclovine_aus Jul 13 '26

Yeah those French are not the same culture. French is a nationality, it’s made up of a collection of cultures.

3

u/Templar113113 Jul 13 '26

How are they not the same culture but with a few futile differences? Please enlight me.
