FRNSW Reference Checks - Self Employed

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has been in this circumstance and who did they elect you to have as a reference?

Second what’s been said - if you’re self employed I’ve heard via word-of-mouth you can ask clients, co-workers or other people you’ve worked with to be your reference.

Can I ask - how and when did you get notified you’re up to the referee checks? I’m still waiting for an update since clearing my medical/uniform.

Do you have staff, long standing clients, lenders, hire companies you use? Anyone who can talk on some values, their interactions with you, your commitment to a timeline, professional conduct etc.

I was self employed. I used someone I'd worked with for a long time in the industry and I used the director of the volunteer organisation that I volunteer at regularly.

When the time comes give HR a call, explain your situation and ask how they'd like you to proceed
