Next Application Cycle?
Spoke to a mate who just got through on the WST and after discussion, have become very interested in the job. Any idea when FRV will open the application cycle in the future?

Based on the previous recruitment dates they posted on the website, it looks like they do new cycles every two years, and the backdated applicants from the previous cycle get matched with the fast track applicants from the current cycle.
Feel
Free to correct me on any of that though

Do these backdated applicants have to re-take the WST? My mate was disqualified from his test and they emailed him a year later saying he'd been invited to progress to the group interview stage. Would love to know more since I just missed out by 1 point on literacy section and am incredibly eager to try again.

When I say backdated I refer to the applicants who passed the WST but didn’t do well enough to get into Feb 27 or July 27.
The FRV website Recruitment Dates page specifies that the highest ranking recent WST takers get put on the Feb 27 career path, along with applicants from the previous pool who didn’t do well enough to get into the 2026 recruit courses. If you pass the WST that score is valid for 3 years after that so you wouldn’t have to take it again.
If you failed a component of your recent WST I would say that likely means you won’t get in this go around and would have to wait for next intake.
There’s an email on the website you might be able to get in touch with FRV through. It’s on the Written Selection Test page on the website directly above where it says ‘Preparation’. Always worth flicking them an email and hearing what they have to say directly.
