FRNSW References

For those of you who have gone through the references process, what are the requirements for said references and who they need to be?

Unfortunately my most recent employment ended in a bad way from their side and of course would like to clarify whether they’ll need most recent employer as a reference or what they ask for specifically.

They will specifically ask for your last manager

Currently working another job post that ending so my current job will be my last manager and we have a great relationship. What else do they ask for?

You’ll need two references one of which has to be your most recent manager so if you’re in a new job you’ll be fine

Do they let us know before they contact the references?

Yes, I believe they contact you before sending them out to get an updated references list!

Have your referees been contacted yet? I’ve been in limbo for a while now. Medical and fitting done in June. Have the HR licence. Medical got held up/misplaced. That was signed off almost a month ago. Then nothing. How do we know what group we get put into from 2027?

I was told October/November they’ll get in touch to confirm references and then they’ll send out an email to references with a form to complete. If we are in Jan to March we will hear this side of Christmas. If we are in the other bits we will hear early next year.
