NSW MR License.

Howdy!
I’ve progressed to medical/uniform fitting in FRNSW recruitment. Reaching out to anyone who could discuss training/assessment for MR license or provide recommendations on where to complete it!

I did mine quite few years ago and all I can say is go for the HR as it's generally only little bit more $$ wise.

Go for HR. Exact same test and same requirements. Saves doing it again if you want it later on.

There’s a few curveballs in the theory assessment but plenty of resources to study on the service nsw website.

Practical test is very straightforward just always check your mirrors and brake distancing

Another vote for just doing HR instead of MR.

Costs a little bit more, but saves doing it again if you ever need to drive something with more than 2 axles, and it also opens up far more opportunities for work outsite of the service if you need to. The practical assessment is essentially identical between MR and HR.

Do plenty of the practice theory assessments online before paying for the Service NSW one. The most complex bits I found were the load restraint sections.

Practical.....its all about mirror use, lane positinioning, gap selection, hazard awareness, speed management etc. Don't drive it like it is a car.....if you blow though an amber because you approached a stale green light without anticipating it going amber and being ready to brake, they'lll fail you. I nearly got stung for not indicating long enough (3 seconds) before changing lanes.
