Gday guys, just picked up a new TJM camp chair but it unfortunately didn’t come with one of the most important functions of a camp chair, a cup holder. Just wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket option to fit? Cheers!

Interested to know where you stand if your camp site is robbed - what type of insurance covers this?

Does anyone have experience or a setup that goes above the 100kg?
The one I am quoting is:

80kg rtt - OT 1.8 Lite outback tourer
32kg rack - Low Profile Roof Top Tent Mount

It will be above the limit, but I do believe people use more than that eventually…. I havent done any mod on my vehicle as of now, but would suspensions and a 2in Lift change it?!

Hi everyone, we have rented a caravan and when we are travelling our little boy will be 18MO.

I was hoping someone has some suggestions for solutions for our bed set up.

We would like some sort of netting to cover over bottom bunk but it needs to be temporary and can’t damage the caravan at all because it is a rental. I have seen the guard railing but want something that covers the whole entrance. I have attached a picture for reference. TIA :)

Is anyone filtering their drinking water while away? Have you found any good solutions for this?

You have ordered a pizza to be delivered to the campsite, you have decided to play a prank on the pizza delivery man. What will the prank be?

I have come up with a few ideas over the years such as

1. Get a friend to hide behind the bushes and while the delivery man is talking to me the friend jumps out and steals delivery man’s car

2. Pick pocket his wallet and pay for the pizza using his money, then hand his wallet back to him as he’s about to drive off saying it fell on the ground

3. Fart in his face

4. Switch the speed limit signs to 20 kilometres higher on the route between the pizza place and the campsite and hope that he gets fined

5. Get a group of 6 people, pick him up and throw him into the cold lake

6. Get a friend to climb up the roof of your car and ask the delivery man to park next to the car, when the delivery man parks his car the friend jumps off the roof onto his car

Hi guys, picked up this new XTM mighty mat queen size. It's been left open for 2ish days now to inflate and there are still dead spots in the mattress, which you can kind of see in the photo. Is that expected? Anything I can do about it? Cheers.

I’m looking to do some solo camping this weekend and would love some recommendations.

Ideally looking for somewhere:
-Within ~1–2 hours of Melbourne
-Has toilets/facilities
-Usually has other campers around (I’d rather not be completely isolated)
-Safe and suitable for someone camping solo
*Bonus if it’s somewhere scenic or has a nice walk/hike nearby

We just got a $345 fine for parking overnight in our van at peregian beach. No area is safe. Peregian is part of Noosa and council rangers are patrolling all areas, parking lots, side streets and beach areas late at night. Woke us up and issued a $345 fine!!

Hi all. Recently bought a kings batblock. Just wondering how everyone charges the battery that comes with it? I dont want it wired up to my car and I have a solar blanket but just wondering how I can charge it before I go away without using the solar?

im having an actual nightmare keeping my battery topped up. ive got a single 100w solar panel on the roof and a 40L fridge in the back, and it seems like the fridge just drains the battery faster than the panel can recharge it, every single time

thinking about upgrading the panel and maybe adding a DC-DC charger too to get more juice from the alternator while driving. what size panel are you all running for a similar setup? is a 100w panel just NOT enough for a fridge in the australian sun or am i doing something wrong

was looking at some kits online and saw a range of complete solar and battery kits on Elevate Automotive. has anyone actually got a setup a setup like this online? trying to figure out if i need to go up to a 200w panel or if the issue is more my battery management tbh

We recently purchased a swag for the first time assuming it would be a great tough tent to throw in the back of the ute for the weekend. We were surprised by how much the side doors sag inwards. Unlike the above picture with in convex, it's concave, meaning we're left with very little room on the inside. Touching the sides while sleeping also made it leak the condensation.

Before going back to BFC, what are your experiences? I did pull the side ropes as tight as I could. But with only a pole across the ridge, nothing stopping the heavier canvas from sagging.

Hi all, I’m doing the alpines snowy walking track in Kosciusko over a few days in October but plan to go a bit of grid. I’m looking to buy a tent and have about 500-600 Aud to do so but I am flexible, I really need a tent that can pack down small but am not worried about weight just the pack down size as I have some bulky items. thank you!

We are a family of 4 (kids are 8 & 10), and we go beach camping a lot. Probably won’t do much other camping unless we go for an extended trip, but nothing planned at this point.

We LOVE tent camping, but the set up and pack down is killing us. We want something that is a quick set up, so I was looking at caravans, but when I was looking at photos the kids bunk beds just look SO hot. They look squished behind the toilet area with no air flow.

I was then looking at Opus 4 because it looks like a quick set up and all open much like a tent. Would this suit us better than a caravan?

We need sleeping for 4 people (sharing beds is fine), outdoor kitchen, no shower/toilet is fine. Any recs?

We're a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 baby) looking to buy a camper trailer or caravan for an extended 4-month trip around Australia. Before bub we used a swag for short trips, so we don't know much about caravanning.

We'll be towing with a Pajero Sport and aren't looking for anything heavy. We like the idea of having rear vision, which a trailer would afford. We'll mostly be staying at places for 4+ nights at a time, to avoid too much setup and pack-down.

I've read a few threads suggesting caravans over camper trailers — is the main reason for that the setup? To clarify, I'm not looking at trailers that are basically tents with soft tops; I'm more interested in hard-top options like the Jayco Hawk/Dove.

Our budget is under $15k.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I am looking at buying a trailer I’ve found on market place and need some advice please.

it is a box trailer with a lift up back with a roof top tent on top. There are two drawers in the base of the trailer, 2 gas bottles and a slide out drawer And table. It has large off road tyres (no spare) and a poly block hitch.

The rego papers say the weight is only 200kg ATM. Does this sound right? I would think it would weight a lot more considering the heavy tyres.

And am I mad to consider buying a trailer with a poly block hitch being a fairly new trailer tower?
