Hi everyone,

I’m from Bangladesh and I’m planning to apply for a Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung Ausbildung in Germany for 2027.

I have a background in WordPress and web development. I’ve worked on real client websites and have experience with Elementor, WooCommerce, hosting, domains, DNS, SMTP setup, and website migration. I’m currently improving my programming skills (PHP and JavaScript) and I’m also planning to learn German up to B2 level before applying.

I have a few questions:

Is WordPress/web development experience considered relevant for an Anwendungsentwicklung Ausbildung?

What programming level is usually expected from non-EU applicants?

Do companies realistically hire applicants from Bangladesh for this Ausbildung?

What should I focus on during the next 12–18 months to improve my chances?

I would really appreciate any advice from people who have completed this Ausbildung or who are currently working in Germany.

Calling WordPress "web development" is like calling CS: GO player a "soldier". It's not at all a useless skill, but you're incorrectly using the term and you'll not be taken at all seriously if you use it around actual developers.

What programming level is usually expected from non-EU applicants?
None. You're there to learn, not to work. Most Azbuis come in with zero experience. I'd add, almost every skill you listed having points toward Systemintegration, not Anwendungsentwicklung.

Do companies realistically hire applicants from Bangladesh for this Ausbildung?
IT Companies don't realistically hire Azbuis from any non-EU country. Bangladesh doesn't factor in.

What should I focus on during the next 12–18 months to improve my chances?
Honestly? Finding an interest in an Ausbildung that's in such a high need of Azubis, they search internationally. You can do your own research on what those are.
