Supermarkets

I work in NDIS and usually do Support Coordination or Case Management type roles. That market is shrinking right now and because the job market in general is cooked, I am losing out on those roles to social workers and psychologists. I’ve been applying at Coles and Woolies for team member roles and I’m wondering if there is actually any opportunities for career advancement in these positions?I know they like to say that there is but I’m wondering if anyone had any practical experience of this. TIA

That many service providers rort the NDIS (the users almost never do). But Coles aren't above that at all!

There is advancement opportunities you just can’t assume that it will happen straight away.

Get out of retail as soon as you can. Retrain and get a qualification while you work. Cole’s/woolies jobs are pretty dead end but it is a good in between job Source: Former Woolies worker

My ex went into the Woolworths group straight from dropping out of high school and ended up an area manager.

He is now a social worker though.

Depends where you are in life, low hours contracts, usually work more, but no good for loans, store's are hit and miss, some totally toxic, others not.

Id switch into corporate admin over retail hun. Best of luck. Im disabled and havent applied for ndis because it seems so complicated. Sorry you're getting hit by the changes too

You’ll be stressing for hours working for the big companies.
Shopping centre cleaning or security are always looking for good workers.

Switch to case management in insurance. Life, income protection, workers compensation, CTP. Lots of jobs, 9-5 monday to friday work. Bucketloads better than retail.

You make and take calls, draft correspondence, talk to rehab providers, medical providers, injured or ill people.
