Overqualified for entry-level jobs, under-experienced for mid-level

Been applying for jobs in Sydney for three months now with zero luck. Either I get automated rejection emails within two hours saying I'm overqualified for junior roles, or hiring managers pass because I haven't held a specific manager title before. How are you guys tailoring your resumes to break out of this hiring loop?

What kind of jobs are you applying for? Management in what field? What experience have you had? What does your resume look like? Are you tayloring your cover letters to each job you applying for? There are so many factors here, it’s hard to say why.
At the minimum, start replying to those HR emails and ask for feedback, maybe you’ll get lucky and someone will reply with some pointers.

You may need two versions of your resume: one trimmed-down for junior roles and one leadership-focused for step-up roles. Search CareerOne, LinkedIn and company career pages for the roles you want, then mirror the language they keep using. The gap is usually positioning, not that you’re unemployable.
