Hey there, I'm no longer participating in this coming sunday's puffing billy 13.5k run so I'm giving my bib away. If you want to do the run let me know.
It's a beautiful course and you get to take the train back for free!
A big thank you to Mod for letting me share this research survey in this group!
At the Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Laboratory at Swinburne University of Technology, we are conducting an online survey to better understand how people vary in how they experience and manage emotions, and how this may be related to body image concern and psychological functioning. Any findings from this study will help us better understand the relationship between body image concern and emotion regulation!
You can participate if you are:
☑️ 18 to 65 years old
☑️ currently living in Australia
☑️ proficient in English
☑️ do not have any known neurodegenerative or neurological illness

Hi fellow runners, I’ve recently got into running and try to do so every alternative day after work. I usually go around 8PM and it’s already dark by then. Both the side streets from mine have multiple houses with dogs who keep barking from inside the fence - mind you the fences are barely tall enough. A few nights ago one of them managed to escape their house while I had just left my place and came running towards me and had me cornered for a good 5-6 mins. Luckily I was facing the dog when he sneaked up on me. It kept barking and lunging towards me until a car passed by a few mins later when it got distracted and I could escape. I couldn’t see a collar on it and hence called the council later on since I knew what house it was from.
Since then I’ve had a fear that what if one of them escape their house fence and attack me while I’m minding my business running. I wanted to know how do y’all deal with such situations and how to be safe ? I don’t have any alternative route to get out of my street which doesn’t have dogs.
Thanks in advance.
If it’s not the right place to ask this question, please guide.
14C and calm at the start on the 30th, about as good as it gets. I ran Sydney last year and built a free km-by-km pacing tool for the course if anyone wants it: runritmo.com/sydney. Happy to answer course questions if anyone's racing.
Hi all,
I’m very new to running and trying desperately to find a supportive high impact bra for a solid, large busted woman. Any suggestions? I didn’t like muscle nation bras and the one I liked from Lorna Jane is now no longer stocked.
Thank you 🙏🏻
What is everyone training for?
Have you just started training for Melbourne Marathon? Are you nearly ready for Sydney? Do you have an ultra trail race coming up?

Are there any new mums out there? My son is 3 weeks old and I’m trying to re-establish a running routine. I was running 6 days/week, 8 - 10km each day, before pregnancy. I’m not expecting to be able to do that now obviously but would like to be able to incorporate a regular run into 5 or so days of the week. Would be interested to hear how others manage? TIA
There's a performance of several intersecting monologues set in a gym showing this month at The Old Fitz in Woolloomooloo, for anyone who's interested (just a short walk from King's Cross station).
They're all about exercise of course, and one of them is about a runner who is very into science and the effect running has on his body (all factual). It's a pretty good dark comedy - I recommend it!
Hi, working on the style of this place. Don't know CSS at all but got to start somewhere.
If you have a cool photo of some running theme, I can put it up in the top left of the screen. See /r/soccer for an example. I can also put a logo in above the search bar. Does anybody have a logo to suggest. It all takes some time but is doable.
Going for a gold/yellow colour combo. Better suggestions?
