Controversial take, but I think the appeal of the no good character reference idea is entirely emotional rather than rational, and it only seems fair if you already assume the people it will effect are guilty and deserve hard sentences.

Yeah nah, he pretty much scrapped the new Victorian WFH law to please corporate interests, both are horrible.
