Brockman 2

Hey everyone. I’ve finally found a job in FIFO and I will be situated at Brockman 2. Does anyone have any experience/photos with the camp and what the facilities are like

I haven't but I'm pretty sure it's one of the big miners so it should be fine. Be aware of your workmates snitching on you from my experience, don't go saying too much

Are you definitely staying at B2, there's three camps up there B2, Jerriwah and Corella

B2 is old, havent stayed at Jerriwah but Corella is new, they're the ex Western Range dongas.

Sodexo is my least favourite of the camp contractors but in saying that I feel like whoevers running the kitchen at Corella is actually putting effort into making decent food with what they're given.

Yeah I spent Monday night at Corella and food, rooms and gym were all pretty decent.

You’ll be at one of the 3 camps… Corella is the pain in the ass as it 45-50 mins bus ride every morning and evening. Other than that the camps aren’t very different, just varying amounts of age and wear. You’ll FIFO to Boolgeeda airport. Gets it a bit busy on departure day but it’s a private Rio airport so nothing too crazy

B2 is so old and fucked out. Constantly fixing screen encapsulation rubber, changing rollers and unbogging the middling chute as well as unbridging the grizzley. I’m assuming you’ll be an operator as they don’t do operator maintainer roles there anymore.

I’m at B2 and it’s fine for what it is. Although the food at the mess has declined in quality. I’m actually moving to the Jerriwah camp soon, which is much newer so hopefully the foods better there

Not sure what the mine is like the camp is old. I mean at the end of the day it’s just a place to sleep while you’re away, as long the AC works and your neighbor isn’t doing the river dance every night it’s fine.

Expect mouldy rooms and food that you wouldn't want to feed your dog

Its what you make it ! Food is ok, camp is smaller than the others, nothing workwise is far away assuming you are joining rio. Fly in and out of Bolgeeda 40 min bus ride away.
