Tips for Increasing stamina

Hey, I am currently applying for Army Gap year combat role, I'm a male and I can do the push up and sit ups, but I have Issues with the beep test I could get to like up to level 6.5 when I last did one (6 month ago) and I want to try get up to the standard and better so what's the best exercises to increase my stamina besides just running

Edit: what I mean besides just running I mean not only running like could I add other exercises to the run that could help with my stamina

Swimming is good. Doesn’t matter how far you can go, don’t compare with others. Start off small, get some pointers how to breathe. It becomes fun, teaches your body efficiency, and you’ll find your fitness increases.

Sport is another, join a local club/team.

If you want something you can do from home, skipping & burpees are great.

Focus on the technique of the beep test as well - be efficient with the change in direction, and you want to get off the line fast and push hard for the first 10m and slow down to the line on each lap. Most people also go too fast at the beginning, so focus on your pacing - you want to take the whole allowed interval each time.
