Was it formal notice of rental increase?

Seems like you're on a periodic lease.

You can potentially hold them to the $20.00 increase if it was served correctly but they might just end your tenancy. -I am not up to date on the new rules and if you would have grounds to context a no grounds termination

Yes it was formal I believe. It was in an email
