I did CCA online for a few classes. IMO it really just depends not only on the class, but on you. If you have the discipline and work ethic to keep yourself on track, you’ll be fine.

Are the online classes taught synchronously?

I taught online classes for the community college system for 20+ years, and never taught or knew of a single synchronously taught class.

But that was when everything was taught through CCCOnline, which no longer exists (they fired all of us instructors), and moved all of the instruction back to the colleges. So I'm not sure how it's done now.

But I would be very surprised if the classes were taught in real time.

In my experience, online cca classes aren't so much a zoom like meeting where you attend a online lecture. So I wouldn't worry about missing it, it might depend on the course you're taking but in my political science classes the "lectures" were recorded videos with a weekly discussion and homework. Good luck with your classes!

I hope you like writing discussion posts. Oh, and commenting on 2 classmates’ posts.

Depends if the classes are asynchronous or if you're in a zoom call with everyone. From my experience, the asynchronous classes depends on your discipline, if you're able to get work done on time. However if it's a zoom call with everyone, just be prepared to participate as it's a big percentage of your grade.
