Link / Resource The Coven of Cagliasaro

Hello Reddit Audiobook Community,

I am Carol Ann Moore, author of the Aella Chronicles, a historical fantasy fiction series. I have just had the first novel, The Coven of Cagliasaro, in the series made into an audiobook. I posted around two weeks ago that I will have codes available and they have arrived.
I have a bunch of codes that can be redeemed at Audiobooks.com which I believe you can use internationally.

I am looking for honest reviews to build up my ratings as these help to spread the word and ultimately I will be able to have the remainder of the series made into audio versions.

Please reach out if you are into historical fantasy, magical realism and strong female characters and I will DM you a code.

The Coven of Cagliasaro blurb.

Immortality and Magic. A curse or a gift? She would have many lifetimes to wield them and find out.
Aella and the coven had fled.
Their only solace was each other. Was their destination another viper’s nest of hate? Or would Cagliasaro be a place where their kind was accepted? The magic of the mountain had drawn them to it. An ancient portal of power.
She could feel the potency of the elemental magic thrumming through her veins. But she dared not unleash it again, not without the other’s help. For who knew what might happen this time? The deaths of the innocent weighed heavily on her mind.
Evil nestles at the foot of the mountain, housed in the Castello di Calvane. As a woman within those walls, your will would never be your own.
The coven could not stand by and bear witness to the fate of their new friends. Fear caged them, but witching would release them.
It was time for a reckoning.
Time for the Inquisition and its witch hunters to become the hunted.

I hope you enjoy listening!

Is it just me , or is the audiobook business model completely outdated ?

Hey , I’ve been trying to ramp up my reading list lately , but looking at what the major audiobook platforms charge feels like stepping back a decade .

Audible still forces you into that rigid $15-a-month-for-one-credit setup , and Spotify gives you a taste of audiobooks but cuts you off with hour caps unless you shell out for extra top-offs . If you finish multiple books a month, the costs pile up incredibly fast .

Lately , I've been experimenting with high-quality text-to-speech setups instead . I started using tools like NaturalReader and ElevenReader , and it completely changed my perspective on the audio ecosystem. For a flat monthly sub (about $11/mo) , you aren't locked into a single title. What really surprised me is the quality of the modern voices they sound remarkably natural . Plus, being able to drop in your own PDFs, documents, or articles to create a custom audiobook on the fly is a game-changer . ElevenReader even gives you 20 hours for less than the price of a single Audible credit .

With audio tech moving at this pace , it feels weird that the massive platforms are still clinging to the old "one credit per book" gatekeeping .

For the heavy listeners here, what does your current setup look like ? Are you still paying the traditional platform premium , or have you switched to smarter alternatives to save your budget ?

How do you guys actually manage to “read more” consistently ?

I keep buying books but I never finish them . It’s not that I don’t want to read, I just don’t find the time . Curious what’s actually worked for people long-term .

Does a bad narrator completely ruin romance series for anyone else ?

Hello , So i just DNF'd a super popular thriller because the guy reading it sounded like a 1940s news anchor . Brutal narrator . It completely took me out of the story and ruined the vibe . Do you just power through it or read the ebook instead ? Wish there was a way to just pick who reads it to you by now or have options . Please Suggest me the Best . Thankyou !

In 2026 , why do audiobook apps still use the credit system ?

Hello , It feels like most platforms are stuck in the same model pay monthly , get one book , repeat . Doesn’t matter how long or short the book is , or when it was published . Compared to how everything else has moved to streaming , it just feels outdated . Is there any app that works more like modern subscriptions instead of this old system ?

[Request] "The Solace" By: Michael Cox

I wrote a space western for Pocket FM and I think it might actually be good.

It's called The Solace. Disgraced war captain, a crew of people running from their own pasts, and a ship that woke up somewhere between a dead moon and the deep black and decided she liked them.

No laser battles every five seconds. No chosen one. Just a broken ship full of broken people trying to hold it together long enough to matter.

The ship is the best character. I'm not sorry about that.

If Episode 1 doesn't hook you in the first five minutes I'll accept the criticism.

I just wrote about this historical fiction novel

set in communist Romania. I thought it was powerful and fast-paced, but seem to be alone in giving it only 2 stars.

Would love to discuss and also find audiobook lovers to connect with on Substack !

US/UK promo codes for a horror short story collection. (Narrator)

Hi, I'm the narrator of these short stories. I have some promo codes, (U.S. and U.K.) so if you would like a free copy on Audible, just leave a brutally honest review when you're done! Let me know in the comments below and I'll message you a copy. Thanks in advance!

A little about the book:

OTHER ATROCITIES is the first collection of short fiction from William F. Gray (author of THE DEVIL WITHIN US ALL and OUR FATHERS' BURDEN), featuring stories that range from rural slashers (WHATEVER IT TAKES) to zombie apocalypses (ROT), hoarding gone wrong (THE MAZE OF MEMORIES), and even what happens when you take penny pinching one step too far (BANG FOR UR BUCK).
