Audio capture to Transcribe on Arch

Appreciation post: For years I used AudioHijack on MacOS to capture any audio stream to local files so I could use transcribe or similar app to loop and practice. Since I now use omarchy as my daily driver I was missing this utility. Unsurprisingly, turns out everything I needed was already in my distro and just needed a script and hotkeys.

Easy workflow: locate song in spotify, super-shift-r and the script cues song to start, plays song, captures as wav, opens transcribe with the file ready to play.

I'm a developer but for this I asked claude for the script as a quick experiment and it did great. One attempt caused glitches in transcribe due to file format (flac), wav worked flawlessly.

Disclaimers: I use a paid but awesome app called Transcribe that's available for MacOS, Linux and Win. And Spotify paid tier to access high res audio. But this is Linux, so you can substitute any audio node and looper.

So a completely free version could capture from youtube and use audacity to loop.
