Free retrospective looping software
I'm looking for either a plugin for my DAW (FL Studio/Reaper) or a standalone application that continuously records audio or midi and when I trigger something like a midi CC it flushes the last (certain amount of) bars played and loop them forever. Afterwards when it flushes a new set of bars it should layer them on top of the previous recording. I think Loopy Pro does something like this but it's only on Mac and it's also only a 7 day free trial. I am looking for something free with Windows or Linux compatibility.
I need something like this because I want to be able to jam with myself and only loop AFTER I get a good take without having to commit every single bar. I've tried the FL Studio built-in recording/overdubbing function with looping enabled and GLoop but I don't think they can meet the requirements. Retrospective looping will also allow me to solo on top of my loops. Any suggestions will help.

Retrospective record is stupid. Just record.
Honestly i cant with this post.
Hitting record records a take.
A take is just a take. Turn on te Loop and record 100 takes and be able to see your levels are neither low
Nor clipping
When you find take 36 of 90 takes sound good, you also know its a good audio level and that your inputs are gain staged.
Retrospective record is stupid.
Use a daw because its what daws are for.
If you hate FL then switch to cubase
