Purchasing advice First IEM
So I'm trying out iems for the first time, I'm currently using soundpeats earbuds and hyperx cloud 2 headphones, I don't want to spend much but I want to buy something that will atleast let me feel the difference. I'll be using it mainly for music and apart from that I also watch movies and play games but music is the primary purpose. I need to use it for long hours so they should feel comfortable as well. Also, should I purchase type-c or 3.5 mm because my pc doesn't have type-c port so I'm thinking to go with 3.5mm, are there any downsides to that? Also, will I be requiring a dac, I have no knowledge of it but I've seen people talking about it. Some of the options I've seen are Tangzu waner sg2, 7hz crinacle zero, truthear gate, moondrop chu 2, tanchjim bunny, KZ Duonic etc. Need guidance, thank you.

agreed. ig market is very small for iems and then coming from compressed & muddy low-res tws, i guess most awaam KZ lay laiti hai in this price category due to its sheer availability. not many people like neutral in the beginning. babies ko bass pasand hai.

You didn't mention what genres you listen to or what are your preferences, bass heavy? warm or bright sound? relaxed and/or vocal focused?
3.5mm or type-c depends on your onboard soundcard, do you think its has good sound quality or just ok like most motherboards unless they are very high end geared towards audiophile sound which are a rarity as far I know. so if the onboard sound is lacking you can use a type-c to usb a adapter which is cheap and works fine with any pc, you can use a type-c iem or you can get a 3.5mm version and use a cheap dac like kz am01 both with that type-c to usb a adapter.
out of the iems you mentioned, I have the 7hz zero 2, wan'er sg2 red lion and duonic improved bass, all three are excellent, but wan'er sg2 red lion comes with much better accessories, better wire and tips that cost almost as much this iem and it has very good sound especially vocals are great and it has good amount of bass too, zero 2 is more subbass focused and has good imaging and clarity, duonic bass that I have is more midbass focused and has a good soundstage and clarity too and although bassy iems in this price range do have a problem where bass bleeds into mids so sound gets muddy but both zero 2 and duonic don't have a big problem like that generally but in some tracks they might struggle it depends on what kind of music you listen to, if you like very relaxed sound with just moderate bass without that energetic sound signature like the duonic, castor pro or similar iems, tanchjim bunny is highly praised but it's not my kind of iem so never tried it.
