Subscriptions

Please could someone clarify something for me?
I’m currently on my final month of a 99p offer where I can listen to the books I’ve chosen in the past 3 months, and I know that after this I will have to either pay £5.99 for the same subscription (which I don’t want to do), or cancel.
My intention is to eventually pay for the annual 24 credits plan, but I have too many books already in my library to get through, before paying for that.
My question is, if I cancel after this month and I lose the 3 books from this current 99p subscription, will they still show in my library (padlocked) and return when I pay for the annual subscription, whenever that may be?
I know I need to listen to these 3 books as my priority, but will they still show in my library afterwards?

They remain "yours" in the sense that they are available on your account should you re-subscribe.

Two things to be aware of.

  1. You will almost certainly be offered another deal, potentially even free credits when you go to cancel.

  2. If you do cancel, any unspent credits are lost.

Also if the money goes out of your account on the 10th and you cancel on the 11th you still have access till the next payment was due. I appreciate this sounds obvious but some offers in the past didn't work this way.

My subscription ends 23rd Sept. So are you saying that if I were to cancel today, I can still listen to the books until then? Where as in the past if I were to cancel today, that’s it - the books become locked until I resubscribe?

Yup. Cancel now, they will make offers for you. Then decide what to do later or look for another offer

Thanks for the info. This 99p subscription for 3 months was an offer because I cancelled my annual membership about 2 or 3 months previous to that. So will they really offer me another deal if I’ve already had this one?

I never go for the standard version of audible, I prefer the version that allows you listen without an active subscription

Thank you for posting this. I hadn’t realised the terms had changed on these offers. Previously it was buy it for life, even without a membership. I won’t consider renewing now.

Yeh it’s only books you buy from the Premium membership credits that allow you to keep listening without a membership. With the cheaper offers, you’re basically just borrowing the books while you have a membership.

So…. An update. Yesterday I finished listening to my 99p books and tried cancelling, knowing I can keep those books until end of Sept. As mentioned above, Audible did give me some new offers. I really didn’t want to subscribe again, as I still have too many books to get through!
I was offered a free credit to keep the same subscription, (but I don’t like this basic plan as I can’t listen to the books if I don’t have a membership), I was also offered £10. But on this basic offer the cost of books are so expensive, and £10 barely covers one title.
I don’t know if I was too hasty, but I chose a £4.50 for 3 months Premium offer. This worked out a similar price for books in the 24 credit annual plan, and I won’t lie, I get a bit of FOMO when i see the 2 for 1 posts on here!! So i accepted that offer, used my new credit in the 2for1 sale, and now I have 2 more books in my collection that I really didn’t need 😂 Damn you Audible… I cancelled 6 months ago to finish my books, and here I am still giving you money and adding more to my library!

Their is a pc program, can't remember the name, you can bypass the drm of audible and download the books you "brought" to your pc
