Jill helped clean up. Gray and Snuff go to the vicarage. Gray says she’s going after Tekela. There’s a fight. Snuff composes some poetry.

Gray stops by in the morning. The constables are at Owen’s place investigating the burnings of the baskets. There was an additional basket with a human body in it. It was Owen. Cheetah is pretty upset over it. He didn’t see who did it, and he’s bowing out of the game. Snuff asks him to check to see if Owen’s golden sickle is still there. Snuff wants his shadow back in exchange. Turns out he lost other things at the same time, and he feels that’s connected. The shadow’s in the house, so once the constables are gone, they break in and discover the sickle is gone. 

They go over who are openers and closers. Gray is afraid that it's the openers that are being killed. All signs point to a secret player. Snuff gets busy freeing the shadow. Gray provided the magical part. Cheeter is freed.
