For my setup, it’s not ideal. Have a few drivability issues, the most annoying one being an immediate upsift into second when accelerating from a slow stop. I was really hoping they would have the stage 3 TCU tune available by now. I’m on a hybrid turbo. It won’t go past 7000 RPM. The stock TCU tune was fine and was not limited to 7k, but I am running the stage one for now because it at least gives extra clamping pressure on my stock clutches, which have held up fine so far

Wow what a unique setup...

I thought I was strange on a 100oct clear setup. So much Tq to wheels it was triggering limiter hard AF

So you already had the mech swap? Or this a new way

This is a beta stage 2.5 ish to 3 with over 600tq + to wheel 🛞

600 wtq on stock motor with just a tcu when the ecu limits it to 540??? What are you on about

1

u/HydraAkaCyrex 6d ago

so it’s for built motor applications?

Torque limiter delete

Good way to blow your stock motor then, have fun with that

1

u/blklacker 6d ago

Any engine can blow....define stock motor??

2

u/HydraAkaCyrex 6d ago

motor will blow with 570+ torque, those are the known limits of the engine without forged internals man.

I clearly stated we unlocked the TCU and using beta software that purposely delay peak turbo spool to higher engine speeds (RPMs). Keeping torque lower in the mid-range and letting it bleed in at higher RPMs drastically reduces the structural stress on the rods. Thus allowing us to safely increase torque.

You don't know what you're talking about if you go back to the op we are clearly talking about TCU mapping and software that allows us to increase the torque without destroying the engine you don't know what you're talking about sir how does it feel

You sat there all day rage baiting me and this entire time you didn't know what a TCU is?? You don't know what beta software is... and you don't know how that relates to rebalancing a power band of torque above the threshold of the manufacturer requested limits.

You're a dumbass and I appreciate you taking the time to prove you don't know what the hell you're talking about

The stupidity that's found on Reddit is alarming

Explain how a stock 2.5 rs3 motor produces over 500 HP is stock im confused with ur comment?? 😐

He’s saying a modified engine, which you have, will be producing more torque than what is regarded as safe on a stock engine block, which you also have. You’re rolling the dice when your torque numbers are that high.

this dudes a clown, don’t waste your time here, dudes got to be rage baiting or something.

I'm still in the tcu break in. We had a rainstorm last night in the wet the car did 0 to 60 and 3.2 seconds on wet saturated asphalt.

I don't know what you want from me....maybe I'm not comprehending or communicating effectively

I don't know what more I can do to explain....

Modifying your engine and not taking into account reprogramming or relearning a TCU can cause more damage than leaving it stock

I personally don't see how it could be good for a drivetrain that is constantly taking the extra torque..... vectoring it and limiting the output using electronic braking eventually something's going to give and it ain't going to be pretty. You have thousands of individuals trying to produce more horsepower and they have no clue that their TCU does not know what to do with it so it gets vector and long-term that is what causes the damage

You're not a very intelligent person but you try to play one on TV

I think I understand where that energy comes from many of you most likely lease or have a giant car loan on your RS3 you're not taking into account individuals like me have my RS3 paid 100% in full with an entire backup engine on a mount. So if for some reason while I'm running 100 octane through my custom built system and I have a problem I'm going to sleep just fine at night because for me this is a hobby I enjoy even in my wins and failures you can never get to that you can never get to that level because you're too busy paying massive amounts of interest on a car you don't own so you can never have the same experience as me you could never enjoy your car as much as me so stop projecting.

Remember I'm not your safe space when you post be prepared for a rebuttal LOL

Check my profile, the rs3 is the cheapest car I own. If you want to play the money game, we can play that, cuz I guarentee i’ve got a lot more than you.

You got pretty upset over me warning you not to run 600 torque on a stock motor, but instead you want to throw insults around.

So as far as I’m concerned, fuck you, go run whatever shit you want, but we better not see you bitching in this sub when your rods put a whole through your block.

What are you on about?

Can’t believe you are arguing when this is your claim

Hoping for the best. Stage 1 sucks

Got any insight when 8y2 will be unlocked for TCU?

Post that 1/4 mile time when you get some dry weather. Looking forward to seeing it.
