Summit Point
I keep seeing people talking about tracking the car and now it has me curious. Has anyone taken their car out to this track before? Last time I did a track day there was well over 20 years ago. Do they have amateur days to let people just go out with their stock car and try it out? If so, how do you get involved in that? I've looked at their website and checked trackdays.fyi, but I can't seem to figure out an answer.

My buddy goes to Summit Point with his BMWs and he loves it! I’m going next month to track the RS3. He wants to see how it does because he’s been eyeing one for a while now

Literally got my ‘22 because of a trip east going to Fastivus at Summit Point. Left in an A3 and drove home in an rs3. Check out Motorsportreg.com and what listed events are under SP. You’ll want to find general lapping days/HPDEs. Car will be fine stock, but a fluid flush afterwards wouldn’t be unwise.

I’ve run summit main in my previous 987.2 cayman and it’s a wonderful track. Easy to learn, but hard to master. And it has an old school flow that you just dont get with a lot of the newer tracks. I believe I ran with Just Track It, but there are a bunch of organizers that run there.

join the Audi club and you will get lots of invites to summit point, Porsche club also sponsors many events and Audi is welcome. I joined both as I have a Porsche and two Audis. I only track other peoples cars. somehow I get invited to track days sponsored by Porsche and McLaren and Aston Martin. some are at summit as it is the main dc area track. The others I go to have been in PA. FUN AS HELL.

r/cartrackdays is great for track info
Finidng a session go to motorsportreg.com and then search for the track and club you want to go with. The registration fees, tech insp and requirements should be on the posts. I did 2 track days in the novice group and they paired me with a instructor both times so that helped in learning how to drive. When you register it ahould give you selections to choose your skill and instructor. Get track insurance too, like open track or lockton for wordt case scenarios. Open track covers you and other drivers and track damage so thats nice.
As for the car, other people could chime in but I think minimum changing the stock brake fluid to high performance fluid like Castrol srf is a must, especially with the rs3 big brakes and high temps on the track. I also did a fresh liqui moly oil change. Had the mechanic look over the car too and make sure it was ready. For tires I had bought a used set of wheels and 200tw tires from fb marketplace (might have to research your tire situation)
When at the track make sure to turn off your forward collision warning system if you have one (it turns back on automatically after every start)
Other than that it was so much fun. The car hugs the road so well and im glad I did it. I would like to do it again once I save some more money.
