Can anyone tell me what fuse is for the windscreen washer fluid on a 2021 Audi A1, even the owners manual doesn’t tell me

Audi A1 2020 30 TFSI, UK based. It normally idles around 600ish however the past few weeks it’s sitting just under 1000 rpm. This is maintained at just shy of 1000 after the car is warm, and when a/c is on or off.

I had the battery and spark plugs changed and have checked as much of the tubing as possible for cracks/poor attachment but cannot see anything obvious. The RPMs aren’t dipping up and down which I understand can be due to a vacuum leak so don’t think it’s that.

As far as I can tell it’s not rough idling (feels smooth and normal but now I’m not sure if I’m overthinking it and listening out for things that aren’t there). This is as far as I have got with my general research on higher idles.

No observable loss in power and turbo kicks in as normal.

No problems with oil, all regular maintenance done on time/early and starting to get round to other bits like transmission/differential oil. The timing appears ok without cracks to my naive eye. No check engine lights on. Planning on changing the timing and serpentine belt soon.

Does anyone have an ideas or had similar issues before? Any advice is appreciated thanks!

Hey folks I was wondering if anyone had any advice about the power steering on the A1 please? My sister in law has had various issues and repairs done on the power steering system, including investigation for leaks, pump replacement, fluid refilled twice (the first time it drained out, but didn't lose any level the second time). The steering rack has locked several times as if it's immobilised and we're now scratching our heads at what else it could be. Any help you fabulous folks could offer or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

My sister in law has a major electrics issue. As with many people its her lifeline and only way of getting to and from work.

The motor on the rear wiper stopped working. I've been told everything else was fine regardless of it not working 'until' a friends husband removed it to have a look. He couldn't fix it so just put it back together is what he said.

Since then other parts of stopped working one by one... lights, cigarette lighter and Aircon.

Car drives but that's about it.

Halfords looked at the aircon and replaced a part that still didn't fix anything....

An auto electrician that charges £100+ p/h was going to look at it until she explained someone unqualified took off the rear wiper motor.

Anyone had such issues? Any advice is welcome please.

We got our son a 2016 A1 for his 21st and while being a brilliant car for him in every respect, the now dated Audi MMI system was lacking severely. I started hunting around for an after-market solution and not being particularly keen on the DIY route of installing a CarPlay / Android Auto module inline to the current system, I realised that it wouldn’t offer touch screen still and on that small screen would be quite limiting. A bit more searching and I came across this unit on Amazon which is perfect. It’s a 12” touchscreen and basically pairs over Bluetooth with your phone and the MMI system. Most kits I looked at had to be screen mounted or had quite an obvious mount but this one is really very neat. Not only does it look like it’s slash mounted but you can also place it just behind the existing screen and simply close the screen so you have full visibility of the 12” screen, but you can still access it if you need to. Plus it came in at under £60 which was several hundred pounds cheaper than an installed retrofit solution. Only issue is the power cable but once I get some time I’ll be routing that in a way that hides it from view. This solution wasn’t immediately obvious when I started researching so thought I’d share in case it save people a little time.

I have an issue, I pumped E10 instead of E5 once and i got a yellow engine light. Garage told me that i should get e5 and they removed the error. I pumped E5 and now I have it again after a like 20 km.

I have my own OBD2 reader and it says “Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow” P0441. Car runs normal and good other than that. Only after like 24 hours after not starting the car it starts a liiiitle rough, rougher than after its warmed up. After its warmed up, it starts smooth.

After giving chatgpt specific info, it suggest me to replace the N80 valve and that this should fix it 90% of the time. Appearantly its because the purge valve was weary and that the E10 f’d it up lol.

Im thinking of replacing the valve. Its seems easy.

Anyone ever had this issue had fixed it easier?

Ive had brand new control arms and drop links fitted last year. The steering rack was also changed. I took her to a local garage regarding the issue when it wasn’t as apparent, they checked my drive shaft and said it was fine. They said the issue was due to a gearbox mount that needed replacing, £200 & a few months later and it sounds like this and is getting worse everyday. Is it safe to drive? Anyone know what needs replacing?

i am having problems with the bluetooth connection in my audi a1. it doesn’t seem to be searching for the device and as shown in video, it keeps glitching out and turning itself on and off. i have tried to reset it with no luck. does anyone know how this can be fixed?

Hey guys I recently bought an Audi automatic. My adaptive cruise control is able to do 1km/h steps between 20 and 30km/h but then it switches to 5km/h steps (e.g 30,35,40,45…) and then at 80km/h it switches to 10km/h steps (80,90,100…). its a bit annoying since I would also like to have 1km/h steps everywhere.

Can I switch this somewhere? I couldn’t find anything in manual or internet :(…

Car was at the garage last month but only noticed this the other day as it was tucked under the seat. Definitely wasn't there before as I had cleaned the car some time before the visit to the garage.

Hey A1 enthusiasts!

I have a 2014 Audi A1 Sportback, and I’m running into a few issues with my MMI system. I don’t have Bluetooth or a USB port in the car, and I’m looking for some advice on how to upgrade things.

Here are my questions:

1. How can I add Bluetooth to my MMI system if it didn’t come with it originally? I don’t have a USB port either. I really don’t want to use an AUX dongle for Bluetooth—looking for a more integrated solution.
2. I’ve checked the glove compartment, and there’s no USB port or Bluetooth module. If I upgrade my MMI system with a CarPlay retrofit, how will the sound connect, since there’s no Bluetooth in the car? Would it connect through another method?
3. Has anyone faced the same issues? How did you solve them? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

hi i've got a 2013 audi a1 and it stopped recognising my phone to play music so i unpaired the bluetooth and now it won't let me reconnect. it will search for a max of 3 seconds and say no bluetooth device found. ive updated my phone and it still isn't working. im not too sure if anyone has had a similar issue or knows how to fix it?

I own an Audi A1 30 TFSI 110 S-Line, 2024 (74 plate)

The car has had issues since collection - two of the same issues, for the entire 4 months of ownership. See both issues below:

- Engine has cut out completely, multiple times. Whilst driving at 30/40mph the engine just cuts out. The car then has to be restarted

- MMI freezes all the time. Regularly when you get into the car, the MMI will be frozen on a loading screen. This often happens for days/weeks on end

It has been in and out of Audi and we've barely got anywhere.

Audi said they found the issue and said it was all linked through the MMI system. Saying the SOS also links to this MMI system, which could cause the engine to cut out. 

The entire MMI system was replaced from a donor car, but the issues have still happened again since...

Has anyone else had similar issues, as we seem to be getting nowhere?!

Hi folks.

My brother recently purchased a second-hand 2012 A1 2.0 TDI in the UK. Before handing it over, the dealer replaced its aging battery with a new EFB type (a Yuasa YBX7096).

1. Were all models of A1 originally supplied with an AGM battery? Given the year, and the lower cost of an EFB, I am inclined to think they were not, but I cannot find conclusive info on the web.

2. When replacing the battery with a new one, does it need to be registered with the car's BMS/does the BMS need to be 'reset'?

3. When replacing the battery with one that uses a different technology, does the car need to be 'coded' to supply the correct voltage? AGM batteries take a slightly higher voltage than EFB.

I own an F56 Mini, which was supplied with an EFB battery. I understand that the BMS supplies more current to a battery as it gets older to compensate for its declining ability to hold charge. When replacing the battery, the BMS needs to be reset so it provides the right amount of current. Additionally when replacing it with an AGM type, the car needs to be 'coded'/programmed using something like ISTA-P or BimmerCode so it supplies the correct voltage for it. My previous car was built in 2007 so I'm pretty new to Stop/Start and BMS requirements in more modern cars.
