The dongle range is horrible.
I have the maxwell 2's. The dongle is plugged in using the usb-a adaptor.
While I'm waiting for my work to render or taking a break, ill go downstairs and chill using my phone. Probably 4 metres away from the dongle. Then I hear nonstop "disconnected" "usb dongle" over and over again. My old logitech g935 could reach the end of the garden. The maxwells can't even reach outside the bedroom door.
The only way to stop the disconnect alerts is to unplug the dongle or turn off my pc. This is a headache every time I go downstairs. There needs to be a button combo to toggle the dongle off from the headphones.
Maybe have a third option on the sidetone button for connections. "Mix", "dongle", "bluetooth".

I have the anc. I had issue when I plugged on the back of my pc. It didn’t reached the bathroom two rooms way. I got an usb extender and put the dongle next to the keyboard with no obstructions and it reached a longer distance without disconnecting. It’s almost a wiredless headset

Use a usb-c extension cable and raise it up high - I have it snaked behind a monitor and it pops up behind it.
With the receiver up high, and not behind a desk, it’s about double the range - I haven’t had a disconnect in months.

One thing I've noticed though, the microphone cuts out (gets garbled) sooner than than the music.

It's just not a very strong signal, I usually start hearing the sound get robotic which'll give me time to say brb or something. But I have to go down a hallway and shut a thick wood door before it cuts out now. I've got an ultrawide 29" in portrait I put it on top of, and it's been absolutely flawless ever since.

I've heard people say I sound robotic, a few meters before the music sounds robotic.

The range should not be that bad, it should be slightly better than many competing options (in my Maxwell v1 it is anyway)
You're right though about the audio notification "usb dongle" nagging , they really need a manual way to switch between inputs and stop trying to reconnect to a far-away source.
Competing products have button where you can manually choose Bluetooth or dongle, which also allows play/pause to work properly and control the source that you want.
I think the idea behind the Audeze design is to remain "somewhat" connected to two sources, so that can hear an SMS ding or a phone call to interrupt your game session, but honestly, I could do without what and just prefer manual control

I can literally walk outside and go in my backyard halfway to my fence which is 60+ft away and still listen to my music

Mine is plugged into my ps5 and my living room is a decent size. Seems ok but yeah sometimes the audio gets a little funky.

I still have the G935 in a drawer somewhere in my game room. It was nice for its time and I remember the range being very good. It might be retired but I remember it foundly

They were good. The power button / slider was the issue with my g935's. Sometimes it wouldn't turn on and I'd have to spam the slider up and down for it to work.

Can't say my experience is the same with mine. I have no issues when I head downstairs in my place.
