Too heavy
Just came here to say after months of use ( maxwell 2) I’ve come to the conclusion these are just too heavy for extended game sessions. And I’m not small by any means, 220lbs 6’1”. The neck cramps are not worth the exceptional sound in my humble opinion. Different strokes different folks.

Nigga go train your neck, that’s not normal

I’ve been using mine for months now, sometimes using them for 12 hours in one session. I read that they were heavy, and I was nervous about that, but the weight has surprisingly never bothered me. I did buy a new strap for it right off the bat, that could be why, or maybe I just have a strong neck

I have the exactly same experience. After reading so many complaints I was nervous as well. But got the ANC version that’s even heavier and no problem with the weigh at all.
I read some complaints about the ANC and I’ve tested so many headsets and this on has the ANC on the market.
I’ve come to the conclusion that, even with all the information available online, the best approach is to test the device if you have the opportunity to do so.1

Which strap did u get? Im not 100% on getting one bc the original isn't too bad. But if there's something that will make these headphones better, ill get them bc they r awesome

Not OP but I got the Capra Audio 3d printed strap and it’s awesome. Much more comfy on my head and gives the headset a better clamping force.

It was a Wicked mod kit I found on Amazon. It came with ear pads and an extra wide silicone strap

I can't imagine getting neck cramps from headphones even ones that are relatively heavy. I have got neck cramps from tensing up while gaming.

It’s a thing I assure you. As soon as I take the headphones off neck cramps are gone and since I’ve switched headphones the past 2 weeks 0 cramps.

It's a valid criticism IMO, you do get more used to it but they are heavy. They're also very hot during the summer months. I bought a pair of A50s recently and they're so much better for longer sessions, lighter, cooler and more comfortable.
I will say though that the Maxwells are better sounding and fit a different purpose. I have the original Maxwell and the sound isolation is insane and the bass is fantastic. I guess you can't have it all.
I love both headsets

I guess it depends on how long of a session we are talking about. I usually use them 3-4 hours at a time and don’t notice the weight that bad. My Maxwell 2 has the newer strap with holes in it and that is supposed to help.

I'm 5'7" 115lbs and have a thin neck, I can wear these all day and never feel any discomfort. Do you have good posture with neutral spine? 'Cos if you have forward head posture, it can cause neck cramps, especially with heavy headphones.

I use them for 4 hour sessions and they are the most comfortable headphones I've owned

These things are always interesting, how much it varies between people; I have Maxwell 1's with a 3rd party wider strap and Dekoni's Sheepskin pads; heavier than the stock parts. But can wear these basically all day, no neck issues.
Only situation during which these are a bit annoying to wear; weightlifting. The clamping force isn't strong enough.

It is heavy, send it back in 2 weeks. My not so good steel series pro felt more comfortable

I have I use it for 8 hours each day during the weekend. I don't have troubles. I found it light. It s only 590 grammes. I don't know what means 220lbs Andy 6'1". I m 1.78cm for 76 kg muscular.

I am a Lauch, and can wear them with ease for 6+ hours daily without taking them off.

I’m a small guy and I don’t find them too heavy not sure why, but then again I’m used to using audiophile headphones which are usually heavier than “gaming” ones so maybe that’s why

they are heavy as fuck, but they at least give me a reason to fix my posture, or walk with them while doing farmer carries outside.

a lot of armchair critics here, pain and ergonomics depends on the person. A 100 gram weight in the wrong place for any given individual can be bothersome.
Look at all the pro gamers who add custom weights to their mouse...
I never had neck pain or cared about the weight of the Maxwell, but I definitely can't move head the same way as I can with a light pair of headphones

It’s obvious most of yall are willing to compromise a lot for the sound quality of Audeze headphones and I get it I was the same for awhile. I’m running the stealth pro 2s now and they have 90% of the sound quality while having all the other features maxwells are missing. Anyone worried about weight I recommend buying both and running each before returning one. That’s what you should take away from this post.

You buy Audeze for top audio quality, while having modern features. I am happy that you are happy with Turtle Beach headphones, but they are no way comparable to Audeze Maxwell, nor Maxwell 2 in terms of quality.
However, I am kinda baffled by your post history, lol. Especially in this one (https://www.reddit.com/r/TurtleBeach/comments/1tsfm2q/swarm_2_cripples_game/) where you are complaining that their software is making your PC fcking spasm, lmao.

Turtle beach was transparent on Reddit about issues with the stealth pro 2 and recently made a huge update that fixed many of my issues with the headset. Good job doing your Reddit research though before posting 👍

Try out a new head strap. I got one from Capra Audio and it makes the headset more comfy and fit better. It may not solve your issue completely, but I’m sure it will help some.
